I am trying to take control and actually write some material that we can practice and record (everyone is down with that btw

I have this little setup at home where I am plenty of amps, a guitar and a bass. I also have a nord keyboard, a little 8 track mixer, zoom dr-05 portable recorder and a 1010 blackbox for basic drum beats. (I also have ableton live 10 but my computer is shit so I always have latency and stuff so I am not using it).
I am for now recording bass guitar and keyboard through an amp and into the dr05 onboard mics. Drums through the mixer and some speakers into the onboard mics too.
The DR05 is not actually a multitrack recorder, I fake it by overdubbing by if the levels are off I have to delete, adjust and record again which is annoying.
I also have nothing for vocals yet since I have no other mic and I want to have alot of reverb and some slapback delay on them.
I wonder If a better multitrack handheld recorder like a Zoom H5 or something like and a sm58 could do the trick or if I'd be better off with an actual desktop type multitrack recorder (that would also most likely give me atleast 8-16 tracks). I guess I have no choice but to get an sm58 or some kind of vocal mic too to run it through the mixer and put some effects in the loop.
Any good and cheap options ? I spent way to much on gear lately so I'm not looking to spend much here. Thinking maybe Zoom H8 or R8 + sm57
