Anybody else who is really into theathre organ music?

Like I've been obsessed with it. It's like lounge music on acid meets Wendy Carlos. I dunno it's just something about these ridiculous cartoon sount machines playing these super pompous tunes really gets to me. Maybe I really am insane ...or the spectacle of over engineered air controlled marimbas makes the music interesting cause the gear is cool

There are pretty cool old-web pages about them too. Some crazy guy called The Bone Doctor built an electrified and computerized one to play in his blues band.

This brings horrible flashbacks of red dwarf and Wallace and grommet.. I'm more than trustfully sure that you just simply must relocate towards the lands of the Britons if this is a obsession you truly wish to pursue

I'll have to check some out. I do like pipe organ sounds in general and especially some stuff Messiaen did with the instrument.
I used to install sound systems for a living and spent a lot of time in churches, crawling around organ chambers, hoping I didn't break anything (repairs are expensive). This was before cell phone cameras, wish I had pics of some of them.

Or wisconsin, apperently! There is some resturant there that has a guy who plays the organ employed. There is also a really huge instrument in the warehouse of some american lip balm brand. I am startiing think this is like the germanium fuzzes or cartoon villains. I bet they have a stompboxes.co.uk forums for organs where they have a general discussion about world domination.

I actually stumbled upon this when I watched chrurch organ instructional vids because I wanted to know how they used 4 manuals (I never found out)

I really like a lot of that exotica/50s bachelors pad stuff.
