Congrats to heartben, my bloody televsion, and aussy! Yeah... 3 winners!

The Dr. Scientist t-shirt battle is ovah! Thank you very much t-shirt designers, you're a brilliantly talented lot! We'll announce the winner in a day or two or three and we'll get the t-shirt size and address of everybody who entered. Thanks again!

Design a super badass Dr. Scientist T-shirt by October 31st and win yourself a super badass Dr. Scientist pedal plus the very same t-shirt!

*edit* I've changed the title of this thread to be more understandable now that I've had my fun with Jon. Let's make some t-shirts!

Dr. Scientist needs t-shirts badly.. we've been working topless for years. I'm thinking of something big and colourful and fun and I'm thinking there's lots of creative types around here that might be able to help. It could be a contest where the winning submission gets a pedal or some cabbage or maybe some space plans or Old Dutch potato chips (only available in Canada!) plus a free shirt. Or it could just be a kind of contract your services out kinda thing. Maybe if there's lots of interested artists we'll make a fun contest out of it... I don't know.. we just really want some cool t-shirts!

I'd like our t-shirts to be wild and crazy and full colour, I want to just get them printed like kickass heavy metal t-shirts. I really like kickass heavy metal t-shirts. Space stuff, fantasty stuff, metal stuff, crazy stuff, lots of colour, silliness... a big bold image that takes up most of the front of the shirt, like, like... a kickass heavy metal t-shirt. Full colour and resolution please, we're not thinking of having these suckers screen printed. We'd also have no idea where to get shirts or where to get them printed, so if you know stuff like that too we'd love to hear it. (We're in Canada but fine with ordering from the States.)

Please let me know what you think of this idea, we can chat here or ryan@drscientist.ca, I'm easy. *that's what she said*

Thanks for reading!

*Wednesday Sept. 30th Update*

Hi guys!

Looks like a few people are interested in this so let's make it a contest! Winner can have any pedal of ours they want (in any finish they want, just no super complicated custom stuff, sorry) plus a t-shirt. Howsabout a couple weeks for the time frame? We don't want to rush people or cause any stress or pressure.

Please note that the shirt doesn't have to say anything or look any way in particular, we're totally open to anything! I think the only thing we'd like the shirts to say is 'Dr. Scientist', a cool logo somewhere, otherwise there's no requirements. It would be a big help to us if the submissions were in a proper format to take to a printing shop though.. and I have no idea what that format might be.. but we're talking about pro shirts here! (Everyone who submits a proper t-shirt design will get a free winning t-shirt, there are no losers here! *smile*)

Let's say the contest starts tomorrow and goes until October 15th. Submissions can be posted here or sent to me at ryan@drscientist.ca if you're shy.

And thanks a million for your interest and for entering, we're really excited to have cool t-shirts and we couldn't think of a better group of folks to work with on this!

I dont have any great design ideas - but i love it when bands and such makes their prints on American Apparel.

And that was my fifty cent. Orwhatevertheexpressionis.

Hmph...what a tease.

I dig the idea, contest time woot
I'm terrible at that sorta thing but we'll see. I'm sure the more creative ILF folk will come up with something special.

Sounds like fun stuff. :joy: Hopefully I can get some time to design something that doesn't suck interstellar space balls too much.

Doc - In the other thread you used a tagline. Is that a requirement for the designs?

Awesome! I've had some ideas floating around for some ILF shirts for a while. I'll get you a design by tomorrow. It'll be in the heavy metal vein. ;)

And if I could suggest. Check out alternative apparel. They have better wholesale prices and are miles further in terms of quality compared to AMerican. Last time I checked anyways.

But American is good. Their sizes just have substantial variances in my experiences.

Hi kosta! No tagline required at all, sorry for my unclearness there. We'd like the shirts to say Dr. Scientist on them but that's it, no other requirements!

Thanks for the top on Alternative Apparel, hazelwould, much appreciated!

Thanks for your interest guys, can't wait to see what you come up with! *daydreams of cheeseburger UFOs*

Thanks for the reply Ryan.

My 2 cents on the shirts - having worn both Am and Alt Apparel I think American fits and wears better after repeated wears / washes, though Alternative is crazy soft (and maybe more cost effective for smaller runs?)

Hey Ryan, I sketched this up for you :) . All I had was a dry erase marker so pardon the crudeness. I just wanted to show something. I could color it in too.
