Race to the pedalboard: An Axoloti Adventure

Invisible Man and I have been having a lot of conversations about this thing, and are having a friendly race to see who can integrate it into a pedalboard first. He thought we should For anyone who doesn't yet know, Axoloti is a small (cheap!) microprocessor board and graphical coding environment (like Max or PureData) that can be almost anything you can think of. Synth, sequencer, effect pedal (of any variety), sampler, looper, glitcher. Just have an idea and patch it up. Stereo I/O, full-size MIDI DIN I/O, accepts SD cards you can use as cartridges, and a midi host port in the back to connect a keyboard controller, knob box, sliders, iphone, mouse, X/Y pad...

Testing physical controls and patching them in:

(small board is the capacitive touch controller)

and here's a model I made of what I think I am going to build:

I have a pile of parts coming this week to keep it going. Enclosure is a little bit wider than a SMMH -- 1590DD. Will fit on a pedalboard, but also work well on the desktop for synths or drones or ??

Your move, IM. :snax:

I imagine he's gonna duck shit up. In a good or bad way, TBD.

This shit goes over my head and I've made very little/no attempt to really get it in, but it sounds really cool. Seconding looper interest.

Mine hasn't shipped yet, but the plan is to create a texture synthesizer. There's a coding object that is adapted/ripped from Olivier Gillet's (Mutable Instruments) Clouds open-source code, so I figure that plus a looper plus a few other utilitarian functions (logic, basic reverb, mod matrix) and maybe one or two surprises will be pretttttty rad. Commissioning a custom enclosure from a welder, so...SLM has lit a rocket under my fanny now, and it's a battle of the rad dads to see who can go with less sleep than the other to meet the goal.

Looper aficionados, granular grannies, and ambient ambassadors may want to check this ish out. There are some clips in the wild.

Guyz. It's programmable with external usb. No need to vote for looper, you can do looper and other shit and more. usb load looper, load synth, load glitch. Load on the fly.

listening to IM and SLM talk about this a couple of months ago was absolutely intoxicating. Still not sure how/if this will make it into my workflow, but I'm a huge fan.
