The Muffleupagus!

This leaked out on Facebook around the time of the ILF meet-up, but I'm just getting to share it myself...and yeah, it's borderline unobtanium...:duck:

I wanted to build a pedal specifically to bring the ILF meet-up. Something crazy but also something unusual for me. In a first, I started with an old BMP circuit and then got FuzzHuggery. :animal:

This build has been brewing in the background for a while. There's a lot to like about the Big Muff, but also some things that have kept me from putting one on my board longterm, and kept me from really successfully using one live.

The op-amp BMP is a savory start, but I've added toggle to hot-rod it, plus 3 clipping options. And of course, a much better tone circuit, but also the ability to ditch it. And the cherry on top--a giant cherry the size of the sundae itself--is a footswitch-activated 2nd mode that can be set to: 1) texture-ize and bring out harmonics, 2) add gain, 3) add tons of gain / fuzz, or even 4) add octave up.

I think it made some friends at ILFNEM, and it now has a home on my pedalboard.
Behold the Muffleupagus!

Controls:
· Sustain knob with two sweeps--toggle selects between standard and hot-rodded Sustain.
· Bypassable Bass and Treble knobs (side-toggle switches between scooped or boosted Mids).
· Clipping toggle: 3-way toggle selects between silicon, LED clipping, or no added clipping.
· PRE footswitch and knob activates more gain, dirt, or octave up (set by the Pre knob)...with a side-toggle to set the Pre section to lower or higher gain, so you can choose whether you're changing the texture/flavor of the fuzz, or whether you want a high gain explosion when you stomp the 2nd mode (I did discover at ILFNEM that I went just a bit overboard on the PRE section's high gain mode ).

The side toggles are well-protected, but easily switched--and it's easy to know what does what, thanks to the acrylic-glass control plate (which is sturdy and riveted onto the enclosure).
