Hah... Huntsville sucks...
I think Paula Poundstone and the guy who created Wikipedia are from here... And there's NASA... That's basically it, haha.
I think my old home, Columbus, MS, is supposed to be the unsolved murder capital of the U.S. or some-such... uh... apparently Decatur (30-45 min. drive from Huntsville where I attend college M/W) is supposed to be the... uh... syphillis capital of the U.S... This is just what I've heard from various sources, though...
The South sucks as far as telling interesting stories goes, haha.
EDIT:
LAWL... I decided to look up other famous residents:
Fred "Rerun" Berry, Best known as "Rerun" in the "What's Happening" Television sitcom. Fred was also a member of the Locker Dancers who would appear on Soul Train during the 1970s.
All our other celebrities SUCK!...

Milwaukee, WI
- One word. Beer. You're welcome.
- Harley Davidson.
- The typewriter was invented here. There's a plaque downtown in the exact spot where it was invented.
- Teddy Roosevelt was shot here in 1912 before a campaign speech. He delivered the speech with the bullet still in his chest.
- Frank Lloyd Wright designed quite a few amazing homes and buildings here.
- The Milwaukee Public Museum is home to the world’s largest dinosaur skull.
- Alan Alda went to college here. Gene Wilder was born here. The Zucker Brothers... That's something, right?
- Milwaukee is the official headquarters for bowling. For serious.
- From an article I just read: "The Allen Bradley Clocktower is one of Milwaukee’s most recognizable landmarks. The Guinness Book of World Records lists the Allen Bradley Clock as the largest four-faced clock in the world. It is actually four separate clocks, each with an octagonal face nearly twice the size of the clocks on London’s Big Ben Tower. The clock serves as an official navigation aid and is so designated on the maps of the United States Coast Guard.Plans to install chimes were canceled to allow Big Ben in London, England to remain the largest CHIMING four-faced clock in the world."
- Our beer and liquor prices are some of the lowest I've seen in the country.
- We have a really diverse and incestuous music scene. Lots and lots of great bands.
- We seem to breed the creepiest of creepy serial killers here in Milwaukee.

stuff happens here, i guess. i think most people know us as the home of dave matthews band. i'm not into his music, but as a result of living here i could share some pretty incredible stories about the guy himself.
we do have a pretty diverse music scene but recent years has seen a sharp decline in live music venues.
on the awesome side, we are a short drive away from
yogaville and the
lotus.

Well, let's see: Brown and RISD are both here, so we get a fair amount of brainy/creative people around. Plus a fair number of entitled college snots, but lets not go there.
- Lots of great bands & artists started here (and then most moved away): at one point or another, we had the Talking Heads, Tod A from CopShootCop / Firewater, Small Factory, The Amazing Royal Crowns, Damian from OkGo went to school here...
