I'd laugh if they weren't so horrible.

i have to laugh. it's the only thing that keeps me sane. i went and re-curated my Twitter feed like my Facebook feed by unfollowing anyone other than musical artists and sites and particularly anyone associated with politics so i can look at it again...i had to bail a few days into the Israeli genocide because everything on there upset me too much. i missed a lot of music news and almost missed area shows by Swirlies, Belle and Sebastian, and Slowdive because i get all my tour dates and shit from there. now i'll never have to see anyone post about MAGA or Gaza ever again. "less informed, but saner" may be a good policy for 2024. it's easier to laugh at Ron and Nimrata, though, because they're so obviously doomed. they're fighting for a seat in the Titanic's main dining room.

Recently read a premise that the UK is acting like “Children of Men” is really happening while the rest of the world is actually basically okay. Kind of tracks.

IDK if this's a political statement or not, but the film Children of Men is better than the book. :snax:

Nothing here yet?

Can someone please explain Tucker Carlson how the separation of powers (legislature, executive, judiciary) works? Or does he only want to say absurd stuff that the rednecks want to hear?

Thanks for bumping' the thread, Pepe.

First, let me take this opportunity to say, Trump is totally innocent of all charges. Totally.

I do worry, however, that he's gettin' way too' overexposed from all the trials. :worry:

Second, I don't think any amount of explaining will be able to make Tucker Carlson understand the separation of powers.  Not that he's really tryin'.
