Random question, since I have a student guitar with a very similar non-intonate-able bridge: can those be replaced with a Tune-o-matic style bridge without needing to fit new bridge posts or potentially fill and drill?

Maybe? It really depends on the string spacing.

there was a seller on Reverb (i think) selling bases designed to taker TOMs, and I got one - it works fine - you might have to re-drill the body for the anchor screws. Not sure if he's still selling them tho hope so, bc i have a couple i want to convert i'll check my purchases....
