Hehe...man Ryan, we have some similar horror tastes. I have always had to have monsters or aliens in my movies...in fact, I always wanted to BE the monsters or aliens. I always wanted to be either King Kong, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, a Terminator or a werewolf. The idea of transforming into something else always seemed like the coolest.

Regarding comedy-horror, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember seeing a bit of a movie (have yet to see the whole thing) called The Dark Backward??? Something like the guy having a hand growing out of his back or something and he was trying to be a stand-up comedian??? It seemed very "Tales from the Crypt".

IT WAS VERY WEIRD!

Ryan wrote:dmcmahon, check out a movie called The Fourth Kind... it's really close to what you're describing I think. I liked it, watched it just last week.

FS, that picture is hilarious!

My favourite horror movies have to have monsters or aliens or demons in them.. I hate horror movies that are just about crazy humans. Like Saw and Hostel, I don't even consider those horror movies as I just can't stand humans torturing humans. Well, except for the Shining I guess, I love that movie.. but it's more about the feel of it, the scenery and the hotel, it just has such a great vibe. (Have you tried watching it......... on weed?)

But a monster or alien or werewolf or demon torturing a human, well that's awesome. So I really love Alien and Aliens, they're perfect for me. Space horror in general is just awesome. Has Pandorum been mentioned yet? It's newish and a very solid space horror.

Maybe my favourite kind of horror though is comedy horror... there's two shows I just can't watch enough of and I'd probably watch them every day if it wouldn't drive Tanya crazy.. Ghostbusters and Dark Place.

The horror movie that scared me the most out of every movie I've ever seen was the Exorcist. I wasn't allowed to watch it and I did watch it and it really freaked me out.

Haha, that's awesome! VB rules, hey!

Last night I checked out some videos from this thread: Twin Peaks, Night of the Demons, and Killer Klowns from Outer Space... I'd have to say Killer Klowns was the best of them! Awesome music, it's funny, awesome effects and monsters, big thumbs up.

Speaking of Terminator, the first Terminator movie scared the shit out of me when I was a kid for some reason! I'm gonna check out The Dark Backward this weekend if I can find it, it's got Judd Nelson and Bill Paxton on it!

So most of my favorites have come up, but here are a few i didn't see

The Host - amazing south korean monster movie with heavy crossover appeal into horror.

Suicide Club - brutal japanese psycho horror.

Wrong Turn 2 - this movie was awesome in so many ways, but i would completely understand if most connoisseurs hate it. I only checked it out in the first place because Captain Ahab were involved with the soundtrack.

I think anything else I would contribute has already been posted

there's this film called Dog Soldiers, if you haven't seen it you must! It's hilariously un-scary

When is the winner going to be announced by the way?

Hey! I thought Dog Soldiers was awesome and very scary... I think it's my favourite werewolf movie ever! *takes Gilmourish out of the draw* (Kidding!)

Saturday night, tonight, as the clock strikes 12 in the terrifying Cananadian Prairies, out of the frigid darkness will reach a horrific and also randomly generated number... and that number shall scream for the blood of its matching thread-submitter and decide the fate of this very contest and who shall be forced to suffer the wrath of a free and awesome sounding but undeniably frightening and murderous miniberator for all eternity, ie FOREVER! * cue scary music*
