So question: my current fuzz situation is a catalinbread merkin. I know they aren't super popular around these parts, but I'm really digging it. It's really raw and loose which I like a lot, but for dooming out I want it a little more focused. My mind tells me I just need to stack something after it. Any suggestions?

In my experience, running any sort of boost that tightens/cuts low end before the Merkin would get you what you are looking for.

But why do that when you have a perfectly serviceable excuse to buy new fuzz. Fact - new fuzz is best fuzz.

haha good point. Why not just more fuzz?

Is the general consensus to put some sort of mild overdrive/tone shaper/treble booster in front of it? Somehow I thought I would want the shaper after the fuzz.
