As a Berniebro years before it was cool, I don't think the 'DNC rigged 2016' is accurate - they didn't really have to. The system is designed to thwart a) outsiders and b) progressives (much less social democrats or socialists) - it just worked as it was designed to in 2016. Clinton had an enormous amount of pledged superdelegates from the jump, which then show up in every graph of 'who's leading,' creating a feedback loop where it looked like she had an enormous advantage at all times so why vote for Bernie/vote at all in the primary.

That's why the negotiation after the election tempering the role of superdelegates was the most important change in Democratic politics since 1972.

The next 9 months are going to be a nightmare.

the rest of our lives are going to be a continuing nightmare. i'm glad that i'm 63, which means i should be dead before the climate goes into total collapse with the economy and then industrial civilization following in order. it's clear that the Powers That Be (hereafter, "TPTB") will not allow substantive action until it's far too late, which it already is. we're fucked.

The "I Got Mine" mindset is unfortunately prevalent, I've met a few folks who actually say "I'll be dead so I won't have to worry about it" (not pointing at you when saying that,, so apologies if it seems so). Well that and the folks who bring Israel in "because thats where Armageddon is supposed to start, so why worry about the future?"
