:animal: :animal: :animal: indeed! You have a top 3 and why those are top 3? Also, is there something particular you look for in a dirt pedal?
Top 3? mh...
In no particular order:
- Earthbound Audio Throat Locust (IMHO the best Boss HM2 clone/derivate out there, so sad Mark has stopped business, but I reached him out few weeks ago, and he found a blue b-stock box, so I'm getting a third one :!!!: )
- MASP Epilepsy (this is totally berserk.... totally uncontrollable mayhem of fuzz and noise: total love for this one!)
- Lastgasp Art Laboratories 046 Sooper Fuzz (super cool take on the Univox Superfuzz, it has a very cool mid grind, also when the mid scoop in engaged, and if oyu push the gain noise... noise galore!)

What I look in a dirt pedal is normally, be able to push the low-end, lots of volume and gain available on tap, and be synthesizer friendly (many guitar pedals just don't cope very well with line levels, then you have to push up the volume quite a lot).

I’m doing a bad job of explaining but it was really cool to be able to put little things in there quickly, like a replace function on a looper.
Tensor also does something similar that I really like.

Been looking at both during periods through the years, in search of sounds I really haven't tried before. (For some reason I never got myself a PLL. It was always too hard to find (early days), too expensive, I never quiiite felt I'd use it or the timing always seemed off for me to get one. Then EQD made one and I got put off by the hype, lol. What a hipster, eh? :P
Gnomeratron is a delight but it's not essential. My favorite thing about it is mixing the fuzz with some dirty boost and I'm not sure what else does that quite the same. That said, you'd be fine with a Muff or something Brassmaster-derived most of the time.

PurPLL is the best in class PLL. The EQD one is too tame and the ELTA Schumann clone I had didn't sound better or have better options than the Montreal Assembly. PurPLL still comes up for sale pretty regularly. You should get on the Montreal Assembly mailing list.

With the coming of ILFSS2024, maybe we want to resurrect this thread.

I thought I had a picture, but after looking it was just me remembering listing my pedals for this year's ILFEU, and now all of my gear is in boxes waiting to be unpacked in my new workshop.

So it's this stuff listed plus a Lantern Marigold phaser and a SSBS Mini. :)*

Very nice!
Random thought that maybe I've aired before: Has there ever been an ugly version/colourway of the mini? Everytime I see one I feel like I shoud get it (and I'm not even using the one I have that much)!
