"Set up for slide" is definitely code for "can't be set up with good action because it's a POS".
Price is crazy. Like those pickups though.

For real. 1300$ and no mention of truss rod, fretwear, neck condition etc
I think it's sweet apart from the messy bridge p'up installation, though.

If the body is truly from a Spartan (which the walnut back/sides indicate is very likely true) this is one of the biggest brass balls hacks you'll likely see - the neck, the cutaway - I'm guessing there was a wreck out on the pike and somebody yanked this out smashed and smoldering before the mad doctor on the hill got his hands on it. Spartans were the top o' the line - all solid wood primo archtops.

this?

Also, Chank, can "Folk Art Cutaway" be our side project name?

If it is a Pheo then that luthier has built some really wild jazz guitars (particularly travel/folding jazz guitars) out of nice things like archtops. My guess is that they come to Pheo as broken or delaminated or otherwise unplayable and then they do the mad scientist thing on them.

Yeah - he has tons of cool things - I've been "watching" a Benedetto rebuild of his for a while. I doubt he did that cutaway though - he is super funky, but he'd have done a cleaner job of that....
