I do play clean more than I do distorted, but I do have pedals for the times I want distortion/fuzz etc.

On my board at the moment I have a KMA Wurhm (HM2 style pedal) and Bitquest which does some great noisy sounds :)

Dowi wrote:@cbs: impressive collection. I like that you have a handful of Boss pedals around (Bf-2  ) mixed iwth super custom/ og ilf stuff. The yellow/broken finish on the dr.rod pedal always looked super cool to me. I don't remember if that (i think laowitz's) Multiplex is based on some kind of know circuit or what but It looks terrific. And that custom etched Elements too.

Here's my stuff, it's the first time i take a picture of it all now that i think about it. I think it just lacks an MXR EQ, a tuner, and another elk-muff clone laying somewhere in the rehearsal room. The board is still wired from that soundgarden-tunes-only show i did a few weeks back but i need to reassemble it for what i really use it for. I also need to re-do the smaller one asap.

Cool stuff! Nice board you've got together for the show too. :thumb:

Thanks! The multiplex is the 1776 Multiplex (Jr? IDK). Just a PT2399 I think but something about the tone on this one it just blends so well with the clean signal, best delay I've ever tried for that. Elements was a satan present!!!! Excellent gift

you really want to see all three boards and all four shoeboxes of ancillary stuff, plus the loose stuff that doesn't fit in the shoeboxes? you weird.

i don't think of it as "hoarding," i think of it as "resource management."

Someone has to step up and post a collection here. It's been too long. I don't want to feel alone (and less responsible than coldbrightsunlight) with my hoarding. :P Any takers?

Also, goroth, when's the last time you had a big Dr Scientist board? I miss those!

I might not be able to get it all in one shot. Ceilings aren’t that high.

I been doing this a long time...
I guess I find that if there's a designer whose sensibilities I like, I go all in. I've tried a bunch of times to get into Mood but I never like it. But Tensor and the Pladask glitchy stuff just feel right.

I get that with the Mood. I could never use the Mood the way CB advertised it as- the Drolo side was always annoying to use for me. I ended up just keeping it on delay mode, attaching 2 exp pedals via midi controlling delay time and clock, and use it just as a dirty fucked up delay that I can get wacky sounds out of.

IMO, the mk. 2 is way better at delivering the original premise of mood, due to its many improvements. I actually really enjoy using the mk. 2.

I wish the MKII had something to compensate for the gain loss at low clock settings.

I used to have a Mood Mk1, but then I got the Pladask Bakfram... and it was another story!
I still own that Bakfram, for me it's totally super intuitive to use compared to the Mood (you get hat you see, no presets, no finicky dip switches, etc..).
I also love Bakfram's footswitches can be either latching or momentary (this small feature was a game changer compared to the Mood).
Also I couldn't never cope so well with the Mood sound. It has this very digital patina, that I was never so fond of (and to mask that I would put it in front of drive pedals).

How does the Mk2 compare to the mk1 in terms of sound?

In the end of all the glitch pedal I got, I've kept only 3: MASF Raptio (I got 2 actually, love this one, since I got the first one years ago, it never left my board), Bananana Mandala mk1 and Pladask Bakfram.

I was almost tempted to get a Drolo Stammen from the last batch, but the feature set is very similar to what I can already cover with Raptio and Bakfram (IMHO).

I’m pretty sure on both moods you can set the footswitches to be momentary or latching, for what it’s worth.

It sounds like mood is not your bag of chips so I’m not going to try and sell it to you, but the mk. 2’s sound quality is a much higher fidelity- it honestly sounds like a completely different pedal. I like both for different things- the mk 1 is noisier and kind of difficult to wrangle (in a good way) and the mk 2 is much cleaner and more predictable.

I had the mandala mk 2 and really enjoyed it- repeats can smear in a cool digital way when changing the time on a frozen repeat. Bakfram and every other Pladask pedal is on my short list- magic pedals.

I had an older stammen for a while and I remember what was unique about it was the always listening behavior of the recording buffer- you could have a short loop going, then bypass it and while playing something else, then hit record again, and the little snippet between turning the pedal off and on again would be caught in the buffer along with what was already in there. I’m doing a bad job of explaining but it was really cool to be able to put little things in there quickly, like a replace function on a looper.

:animal: :animal: :animal: indeed! You have a top 3 and why those are top 3? Also, is there something particular you look for in a dirt pedal?

This sounds interesting. Any video and/or sound examples of this?

Ho. Lee. SMOKES! Very nice.
The gift of fuzz to top it all off, there too! :D
What's your opinion on the Gnomeratron (any good alternatives out there? How usable is it?) and Purpll? Been looking at both during periods through the years, in search of sounds I really haven't tried before. (For some reason I never got myself a PLL. It was always too hard to find (early days), too expensive, I never quiiite felt I'd use it or the timing always seemed off for me to get one. Then EQD made one and I got put off by the hype, lol. What a hipster, eh? :P
