aah, it becomes clear.
On another note, did Eric ever make a prototype for that Reverb/Delay Unit?

Those Belton bricks are kinda strange for sure.. I'll post a picture later of their size and I'll show you what's inside when you pop off the plastic covering... Scruffie's got it right though, whatever reverb processor is inside the unit is encased in black epoxy/plastic just like the wafer of components inside an op-amp. It's extra weird because the designer has to provide all the input and output circuitry for the reverb unit so you'd think it could easily fit on a 8 or 16 pin smd chip and be really nice and tiny. I wish!

We'll start up the miniberator prototype contests really soon.. I just want to get a bit further into the process with the production models. I've sent the cheque for the first round of pcbs and I'll hopefully receive the first article to test within the next couple or few weeks. In that time Tanya will do up a layout and we'll order the first round of enclosures. When that's all firmly underway or nearly so we'll start up some contests!

Testing hooray! Totally in for free pedals, though they're worth every penny.

will the new reverb have a reverse mode?

Hey NR! I'm afraid there won't be any changes to the existing 9 patches on the Reverberator.. changing or adding code to the chips I use is possible but it's beyond me right now and would be challenging to do on a big scale for a little company like us. The spring simulation I'm adding is actually a separate component from the other reverb engine I use.
Sorry for the disappointing news ... *looks down and kicks a rock*

May I recommend a Yamaha SPX90 for reverse reverb? I had one for a while, and it was great, but rack gear just isn't my cup of tea.

aww. i thought there were some RRR's around that did have reverse on it.
i really want the spx90 reverse sound but it's not exactly pedalboard friendly haha
need an excuse to put some Dr Scientist back on my board since the Sunny Day Delay's been replaced

the only software they ahve written for it is the reverb and delay program. I would proabbly just keep it for myself, no need to get up in Dr. Scientist's shit.

Those sure seem like a great product! Really easy to work with too! There's a few choices when it comes to programmed chips like those for use an effect but I'll be sticking with the Wavefront Semi chips for the Reverberator... I feel like what they lack in wacky effects they make up in the sound quality of the realistic patches and I think at this stage in the game that's what the Reverberator is most known for. Kinda like those familiar patches are branding and I wouldn't want to move away from them.. I just want to add spring to them!
I think experimenting with chips like these is awesome though and I would never begrudge another builder for using something like that, I think there's enough room for all of us to do our thing. I think the programmed chips always leave lots of room for the designer to make their mark on the sound of them too, so even if Aen and I both made pedals using the Wavefront Semi chips they could sound totally different.
Digital stuff is cool as heck too, I love that we have options like that out there for effect designing!
