That rules.

Here are my shitty cell phone pics from that show:

Image
Guitar - Bogen Challenger 100W tube head, Marshall JCM 900 Dual Reverb 100W, two Traynor 4x12 pillars, Vox 4x12, Univox 4x12. Don't remember what pedals were used, besides a splitter.

Image
Bass: Huge stuff that Donovan knows more about than I do

+ two drummers

Holy wow that show was awesome.

Bass Rig of Doom,...sorry crappy iPod pic.

Amp Rack = Yamaha PB-1-->Ampeg SVP-1500 (stereo poweramp). Channel into Avatar 410NEO (4ohms)-->Vintage SVT 8x10 (also 4ohms,...yes these will run at 2ohms per channel) Channel B into Ampeg 4x12 loaded with Line 6 speakers. The 8x10 won't leave the rehearsal studio. Plans for cabs are constantly changing. As of now I Want a second 410NEOs in 4ohms and 2 Avatar 212NEOs in 8ohms (per cab).

Just picked up an Epiphone Valve Junior as a platform for mods once I gain the skillz. Gonna use it as a home practice bass amp and to decide if I really need to by toobz ampz. (YES!!!)

Thanks Mang :thumb:

I love the versatility of having a stereo SS poweramp,...but I still want a powerful all toob amp. Unfortunately the 8x10 doesn't leave the rehearsal studio cause it isn't mine and gigging with a 410 and 412 is lacking a lilly bit.

I wasn't even aware Line 6 made speakers, do you find it changes the sound of the 412 very much? I mean from whatever it's loaded with by default?
Also I'm interested in how the Valve Jr. does :erm:

I think the L6 speakers are Celestions,...they shitty. It's not my cab so I have no basis for compare and contrast.

The Epi VJ sounds decent on bass, it is a little hollow sounding and midrangy even with EQ in front. Fucker's loud. I want to replace the speaker in the cab with a bass voiced 12 inch. The only one I can find is the Eminence Basslite 12" which is a Neodymium speaker which means it's 80 bucks which means,...I have to wait till next payday to order one. I was hoping to source one local,...but 12 inch bass speakers aren't big sellers around here. The next best thing would be an Avatar SB112 for ~$300,...which I could use in other applications,...but again,...need to save.

There are other mods for the VJ but I couldn't put together a boost pedal without hacking it up so that will be a project for a later date.

My Evil Twins: Sunn Enforcer head w/ 1970s Sunn cab (with original transducer speakers) and an Orange Rockerverb 100 w/ Orange PPC412. Yeah its loud as fuck. That's my Epi Sheraton there in the middle. Yes, I play stoner rock/doom with a semi-hollow. I also sport a Gibby Les Paul and Flying V...

Its not bad with the Sunn at all - my Orange is a feedback monster with any guitar so the Sheraton is about the same as anything else I play. Its going in for a setup next week, so I'll give another report after that. I just got it a couple of months back. In fact, I think I'll play it at rehearsal tomorrow night.

Nothing special. Gets the job done for sure though.

Also, first post. :hello:

The JCM 900 gets a bad rep a lot of the time but it's a solid amp, I've been using mine for 3 years now and while I'd love to buy an Orange head or an older Marshall or Hiwatt at some point it still sounds really good to me. I dunno, I'm a bit biased because the 900 SL-X was my first head I purchased (aside from a shrunken head in Haiti, but we'll save that tale for another day.......) and it's never let me down....... although if you leave it sitting on it's side yours definitely might.........

Awesome! I think a JCM 800 or a 900 SL-X would be ideal for me, but right now it doesn't matter. What happens if you keep it on its side?
