There was even a whole thing about Republicans wanting to end that because some illegal immigrants would come into the country pregnant, have a baby in the US, then use the fact that their children couldn't be deported as a defense against their own deportation.

No. Basically the DACA, deprioritized the deportation of one group of immigrants (the dreamers) since you can't deport everyone at once.

Less importantly, Brexit just passed its first parliamentary vote and China actually voted on North Korean sanctions.
Both te opposite of what I thought was going to happen (sort of).

Back when I was young and had hair, it was long, and all I wore were boots.
Mostly because you could buy a pair and theyd last ten times longer than regular shoes.

AFAIK the Brexit vote is mostly just to ensure that EU laws are reclassified as UK laws so when it happens there won't be any weird delays.
But now they want to change what they've just voted on so who knows.

I knew they were trying to make it seamless on theblaws and standards front, which seems kind of pointless to me really. Why bail on the EU if youre gonna carry on with the rules you didnt like anyway?
But I'm more surprised that theyve taken a step so soon. I kinda figured theyd drag it out as long as possible.
Didnt hear there was a reneg in the works. It seemed like a convincing majority affirmed, but I know shit about the British system wven though we inherited a chunk of it.
