Thanks The head was the easy part, some steel wool on the face plate, and leather conditioner on the tolex. Really surprised of the quality of the head as most valco stuff I've come across is press board, the head shell on this is solid pine. As far as the innards, this thing is true point to point, no turret board, so that took a little getting used to as far as completing the cap job.

Cab consists mainly of ply, and pine. Was a little disappointed that the speaker baffle turned out to be press board, you can see in the top right hand corner of it that its swollen outward somewhat due to light water damage, made the re-grill a pain in the ass. Overall I'm very pleased, and the whole project costed me a tad under 4 hundo.

What's the cab loaded with? Inquiring minds want to know. And you can't talk guts without gut shots man. I've been in two amps that were true point-to-point, a Sound City Concord and a Magnatone Trobadour, and I know for a fact that layout matters so fucking much with that type of wiring.

Loaded the cab with two 8 ohm Eminence Delta 12-a's, the cab is massive actually, and bigger than most 4 x 12's. Also had to be wired for stereo.

The two output transformers on the taurus are pretty small in stature, each one is wired to to a single stereo output. Output tranny 1 goes to tip, output tranny 2 goes to ring and they both ground on sleeve. Most of my money spent on this project was to insure to run the head on a proper load, these heads are actually rare for a few reasons 1.) They were only made for a year before supro folded, and 2.)When they get separated from their matching cabs, they tend to blow up as people plug them into mono cabs. In order to run this with a modern rig I had to gather a stereo jack plate for the cab, a y insert cable that had split from a trs male jack to two female mono jacks, and then two speaker cables from there.

As far as gut shots, I didn't get any:(, didn't want to get to wild inside it as I was a little intimidated at first, had a fair share of help from someone with some know how when it comes to vintage stereo gear. I can snap some soon, as I plan on cracking it back open to change out the 220k on the input to a 1 meg to increase the gain a tad, its a pretty common mod on a lot of the valco stuff.

Yeah man, those drip edge cabs were kinda fucking huge. I got a drip edge showman 215 cab and it is fucking enormous, but I love it.

Stereo output on an amplifier is freaky wild! Demo that shit!

I still have the drip edge that goes around the baffle, but a hand stapler/nailer won't pierce it. Also some of the staples are literally rusted into the aluminum strips. Still trying to think of a way to remove them without destroying and bending the strips all to shit.

May try to get a demo up, have most of the stuff I need to record. Needing a good usb interface and laptop needs a new battery, but always buying pedals and amps it seems, may see what I can whip up on my android.

I got the little guy as a backup, but never used it. next week i'll finally get to use it at a show that's on a 3rd floor with no lift.
and then I'll sell it because it doesn't even compare in tone
and I'll refuse to play any shows up 3 flights of stairs.

The Traynor still slayes though. Kills my Marshall GAS easily, and I'm even thinking of flipping one of my other amps cause I don't wanna play anything but the Traynor.

Damn right on those traynors. I've been flipping heads for most of this past year, and the thought of flipping my traynor reverb master hasn't even crossed my mind. It seems to be my gold standard.

Just came across a yba-3 thats nice and clean, matching cab with an altec 15". Cheap to, may have to make a lowball offer on it. Would love to add another to my growing amp collection.

Whats the going rate on reverb masters these days? There is one for sale on my local CL.

I gave 2 bills for mine but it needed work. Reverb tank was shot, had to replace the two oscillating caps to get the trem working again, and replaced the grill cloth.

In good shape they generally go for $400-$700 for just the head. I would assume they are sort of rare for a traynor as I hardly see many come up for sale online compared to other traynor models.

It's also the darkest sounding amp I've ever played, which is what really appeals to me, just a thick, ballsy amp that tends to make dirt pedals sound mean.

Sometimes I run one or the other, sometimes I run 'em together.
