THIS IS A SELF PORTRAIT I DID LAST SEMESTER. THE BIG BLACK SPEECH BUBBLE CLOUD IS GLITTER ON SOME SUPER THICK ACRYLIC TYPE SHIT SO IT'S REALLY TEXTURED, LIKE A CRATER. ALSO LOOKS SICK WHEN YOU WALK AROUND IT. IT'S DRAWN ON TRACING PAPER GLUED TO FOAM CORE SO THERE ARE A LOT OF LAYERS THAT JUST DIDN'T WORK WELL ON THE SLIDE. IT'S KINDA HUGEISH TOO.

Image

I DID A LOT OF SHIT ON TRACING PAPER (AND WAX PAPER) THIS SEMESTER BUT MOST OF IT IS ACTUALLY IN MY DORM ROOM AND I NEVER SCANNED IT. TRANSPARENT MEDIA IS THE BEST. WANT MYLAR BUT IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE FOR ME.

CAPS IS REALLY THE BEST WAY TO COMMUNICATE, HONESTLY.

USUALLY THE SKOOL YOU'RE APPLYING TO WILL LIST THE SHIT THEY REQUIRE (OR PREFER) FOR YOUR PORTFOLIO. AFAIK (WHICH I DON'T BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS) THEY'LL WANT TO SEE SOME FIGURE DRAWING TYPE SHIT. SO DO A LITTLE OF THAT, IN VINE CHARCOAL CUZ IT'S THE BEST. ALSO FROM LIFE CUZ IF YOU DRAW FROM A PICTURE THEY WILL FUCKING KNOW. I WOULD TAKE OUT THE BANNER-TYPE PHOTOMANIPULATIONS OR USE LESS OF THEM, I THINK THEY'LL WANT TO SEE LESS OF THAT. THE VISUAL JOURNAL IS COOL!

THANKS. THAT PICTURE LOOKS FUCKING SICK. I'D LOVE TO SEE IT IN PERSON.

I APPRECIATE THE SUGGESTIONS, AND I'LL HAVE TO CHECK SOME OF THE LIFE DRAWING SESSIONS I'VE SEEN POSTERS FOR AROUND TOWN.

Ugh. I sent this link to him at work without knowing what it was and WHOOPS! He insta clicked it and started chastising me. We both work for a University so we have to be careful with that kind of thing.
