i've lurked here for a lil bit, decided to register an account. i'm 23, and from british columbia, canada. uhh, i've just recently started playing guitar again after a 6 year lay-off, so i'm not that great. to tell the truth, i bought an acoustic guitar in the spring in hopes of getting girls (seriously! ) hasn't worked yet... but yeah, after getting back into the acoustic i figured i needed to get an electric again. so i bought a MIM tele and slowly i've been getting back into the groove of things.

lately i've had a bit of money to waste so i've been blowing cash on pedals and crap. this forum has been quite helpful so far so i figured i'd sign up.

uhhh, what else... basically, i listen to all types of music. been into shoegaze stuff a bit recently, but i listen to everything from j-pop to bossa nova to psychedelia, indie, jangley stuff, blah blah blah. as for playing guitar, i love creating ambient stuff with a looper and stare at the pretty lights on my pedals blinking back at me.

hi, folks. my name is Bob. i became aware of this forum via the devi ever forum and the fuzzhugger site. i'm fifty-three years old, and have been playing the guitar since 1970. i've done all kinds of weird shit in my musical lives, from singer/songwriter stuff to acoustic free music with the guys who became Ken Vandermark's first Quartet to jam-band rock to ambient DJing at raves and Burning Man pirate radio. nowadays my main interest is the material i've been working on forever, which i like to describe as a cross between Neil Young and Crazy Horse, My Bloody Valentine, and Hot Tuna circa the Yellow Fever LP. I'd also like to get involved in a pure noise project, though, especially something that involved oscillating fuzz combined with crunched techno beats. i loves me some fuzz...i have some new boxes coming in next week that i'm looking forward to talking about, not to mention seeing what kind of sick racket they evoke from the Truly Beautiful Disaster.

Dan Scanlan, Kent Kessler, Michael Zerang. i went to high school with Scanlan and Kessler, and knew Kent before he played bass.

i often miss this thread, but being in the suburbs of chicago i used to see vandermark and various other projects involving those guys!
