Yea, the OG FM2 is great. It's definitely not as loud as yours and all of my others as I use silicon diodes and other diodes with higher clipping thresholds (less clipping) as the clippers. I think in the originals they are germanium diodes. Using these will give less output but the edges of the wave getting clipped are rounder and probably less harsh. Should probably add that option on future builds. Apart from that, if all of the resistors and caps check out and match the online schematic, the only real difference in sound would be the transistors used and maybe some of the cap types.

Late to the party, but I would be interested in inquiring about these mythical, top secret, devious devices made by the out sound and only whispered of in hushed tones.

Thinking about doing some one/two offs for grabs next week or the week after. Thinking about doing a couple of Noise Ensembles or a fuzz vibrato based on the noise ensemble circuit. Maybe a couple of germanium FY2's, which were the earlier Fuzz Face design. And/or some Acetone FM2s. Just have some enclosures gathering dust. Also have a couple of those big muff enclosures so maybe Rangemaster/Ram's Heads...
