Did that finally get shut down? Weak. I mean okay, the concept was lame, but there was a lot of heavy music discussion in there, and then of course 666 drug references, and I can only support those kind of things. However, the basis of it being stupid combined with the complete lack of Thorr's Hammer left me unable to participate. I mean are we talking about heavy music or are we just dicking about? DOOM = SERIOUS BUSINESS
Fun fact: I never actually read that thread.

Edit: The thread is still open, and because of it I found out that Electric Wizard has a new album coming out in 2 weeks. I take it all back PUDSUCKING T0N3Z0RZ, please forgive me!
Is it? Did they move it somewhere or something? I thought I remembered the original thread getting locked because it was so off-topic. Oh well, I never cared all that much, because I don't really listen to much Doom (which apparently makes me the only fucking person on the Internet who doesn't)

It was moved somewhere. I don't even know which subforum, to me TB is Effects, Classifieds, and Other.
Fashionably doom is pretty funny, but so far I haven't seen the genre itself tainted by shit. It usually takes 10+ years for a generation to catch up, the kids next door listen to all those weird modern metalshit bands like Buffet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenchode, etc. and it never ceases to amaze me how badly all those groups rip off all the underground stuff from 15 years ago. Of course it's combined with the worst of Madonnapop and made into Funsize nuggets for idiot teenaged consumerist whores, but wtf-ever.

No, I think he's talking about that dumb BONEKRUSHING club that ended up getting locked.
I have a “BONEKRUSHING” sticker.
Yes I am a member of that club.
It was one of the fun things before EF became only Bigmuff and VT allowed.
I should recheck the “read before posting” sticky and see if it says only boring pedals will be discussed.
Basses , amps etc are also filled with the clueless leading the blind..
The guys I really hate are the “is this legit”, “some body report this guy” and the Rickenbacher police.
Oh well broke down and posted in a what Fender is this thread, cause I knew the answer, and they are still speculating about what it is because they only post and never read.

I'm going to ask everyone's advice on heavy bands that sound just like Sunn O))), but nobody will ever mention Thorr's Hammer.

SUCH A GREAT FUCKING SONG. Even better when you realize the hot 17-year-old on vokills is now a hot 32-year-old PhD.

hahaha that rules. But I think I missed that thread, because yeah, I was talking about:

Nor did I and I still can't fathom what would be so controversial to cause the thread to get temp locked. On that note does anyone here know why that whacky Canucklehead Daniel Tulip got permaband?

I think it was just that it was considered off-topic by the mods (since they really weren't discussing effects all that much, it was more like a music thread).
As for Danny Tulip, no idea why he got banned, but I will always remember his huge fight with Mark Olsen about the DOD Grunge.

Mark can be a grade A asshole when he feels like it (intentionally I'm sure), especially when he's pontificating on tube vs ss amps. But that was just hilarious to watch.

Yeah, but he also used Fender Jazz bass, and as every bassist with any knowledge about his instruments history knows, this, on the other hand is because before the existence of electric bass guitar, the ORIGINAL bass sound of jazz was the sound of upright bass - which means that jazz bassists sworn to the four strings of
the true and tried bass guitar are a specimen of voluntary non-evolutionary friction of life on Earth, watching backwards instead of forwards, and should be left to themselves and their inevitable doom.

Okay, I, too, can be a nasty basstard.
You know, actually, I may like the four string bass of mine as much as Jacodid love his old Fender Jazz, but I don't appreciate too much this 'Jaco-stringed-bass'. Tagging his name on that argument doesn't honor him NOR the four string bass tradition (what ever) in anyway, or anything, to me it's plain stupid argument

I was talking to Ignacio Berroa one time, who played drums for Jaco a few times, and he said that Jaco frequently played gigs with basses that he'd never seen before. Someone would bring him a bass, and he'd just fucking use it.

makes sense, or rather, anything else wouldn't make any sense, to me.
