Yes, it's like a momentary tempo shift feedback oscillation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTSrKdG5owU
(I think also the DD20 used to have such a feature)
Wow, fun that it's there but if it just does what's in this video I never want to use this

The cats are indeed nice.

I actually cannot purchase anything purple without thinking of you, Chank. Very peculiar curse(/blessing?).

I dig the Pharaoh, LSTR and Black Forests from BAT. That Priestess looks sweet!

one of my credit cards gave me a surprise $1000 bump in my credit limit. you wouldn’t believe how hard it is not to order stuff like a crazy person (heh). i’m holding off on getting the Supro for the moment because if things go OK i might be funded for next month. i’m stalking a Belmont (sparkle white) and a Sahara (“Wedgewood Blue”) on Reverb that are both under $500. i’m terribly tempted by the Batverb, but even at $400 and some used it’s the most expensive pedal i’ve ever considered. i need to spend time with the lo-fi board and see how much of what the Batverb does i can get out of the ‘verbs that are there.

i watched some demos of the Meris Enzo X and to me it doesn’t sound as good as the original Enzo, more metallic and artificial. that’s one heck of a user interface, though. maybe not my brainwave but impressive. why do builders always degrade the sound of complex pedals when adding more bells and whistles for v2? the Particle springs immediately to mind. the $64 dollar question remains, do i really want my guitar to sound like a synth? Fripp’s Soundscapes become less interesting to me the more synthy they sound.

while aimlessly browsing for Telecaster bodies and mahogany necks i ran across a B-bender equipped Tele body for $650. my country-rockin’ days are decades in the rear view mirror, but that’s as affordable as a B-bender Tele is ever gonna get and that functionality could be useful in ambient stuff. though perhaps not as useful as those B and G benders that mount on a Tele bridge. if i was rich i might be getting ready to go all post-rock Clarence White on your collective ass. the guy with the stable of Teles should really check it out.

I haven’t seen anyone here with the newish Soma Harvazi Hezzi so…I’m going to be the guinea pig. I’ll let ya know how it goes- but their stuff is always fun to use so I’m sure it will be a good time.

This is an interesting take- that the new enzo and particle v2 don’t sound as good as the v1. I have no experience with either Enzo but have owned the particle v1 twice and the v2 once- I distinctly remember the v2 sounding more “hifi” to my ears. All in all I thought it was better than the v1 in every way- I’m genuinely wondering what you’re hearing exactly? Hearing and listening amongst different people is so subjective and fascinating.

the simplest way to explain it is that i find the sounds on the Enzo X less pleasant then the ones on the original. they sound more artificial to me, and i don't like that kind of artificiality though i love building fake horn sections in GarageBand and creating environments with reverbs and delays. it's artificiality of tone or something like that, a slightly metallic quality to some of the presets and sounds. Similarly, i find the sound quality of the Particle 2 more constrained and less pleasant and interesting than the OG. "hi-fi" isn't what i'm usually looking for in effects other than rack reverbs, and it's particularly irrelevant as a requirement for a bitcrusher. i like synths, but not all synths by a wiiiiiide margin, and it's the tone qualities, the actual sounds, that make the difference.

the processing power of the Enzo X is not to be dismissed lightly. i just need to hear someone do a demo with EQ tweaks to the X's outputs or some other form of onboard processing so the results i'd get would be how i actually wanted to sound.

while i'm on the topic of Telecaster parts, i note for the record that Fender is currently making Player II Teles (and presumably Strats as well) with chambered mahogany bodies. i suspect an all-mahogany Tele would be a bit too dark in tone quality for the pickups i want to use which are less ear-shatteringly bright than standard Tele pickups, but it's an awfully tempting idea. you know how much i love mahogany slab guitars, i.e. enough that i have three (Gretsch 5259 Special Jet with DeArmond 2000 pickups, Tokai singlecut Les Paul Special with P-90s, and the Kondor) with another, the Jetstar, waiting in the wings. i just don't think that's what i want from a Telecaster. i'm changing things for specific reasons...the mahogany neck is to calm down the hyper-treble, the modern bridge with steel or aluminum saddles is to give the notes longer decay time and a less "twangy" voice, and the Gemini pickups are Tele-ish but more suited to me. i built a normal Telecaster in the 10s, and like most normal Teles it was ungodly shrill in my hands.
