All of them are awesome pedals! :thumb:

The PS-2 of course for its lo-fi pitch shifting and gritty delay repeats.
The DSD-2 has the wonderful sounding 12-Bit big delay chip that sits right in the mix.
And the HM-3 is a totally underrated gem in the shadow of the HM-2. It has the instant '90s Jeff Beck lead sound with very long sustain. One of the distortion pedals that I have that make my Stratocaster sing.
Thanks Pepe I knew you’d chime in. PS-2 came today I’m surprised it self oscillates- i don’t remember seeing that in any YouTube videos but it’s a welcome surprise. Quite a few interesting sounds so far.

Speaking of GAS, I think a lot about getting a Hydrasynth Explorer lately to test the engine and see if it's worth getting the full size keyboard version. Should I? I have a Minibrute 2, Microkorg, Peak and Sub37, so I feel I have enough cool synths. But I'm fascinated by the Hydrasynth since it came out.
I am also tempted by the hydrasynth. It can be battery powered (AAs are a big plus), the engine is really interesting, and I am curious about whether or not polyaftertouch is just hype.
I had the desktop one for a while. It was fun but I just didn’t like the core sound of it much. I know that sort of thing is so subjective but I made a bunch of patches and played every preset and never once was I taken aback by the sound…but otherwise I thought it was very cool and fun/fast to program. I say try it- used desktops can be had for around 500 last time I checked
That's exactly why I haven't done this. The modulation flexibility and interface look great, but those sounds make me think of VSTs (in a bad way).

apparently Behringer just dropped a version of the Mu-Tron envelope filter. i think i’m covered for EFs, but it’s tempting.

These two words don't match in my world. :erm:

Also been picking up cheapy delays here and there- most recently a DOD Dfx94 and Guyatone MD3. I’ve spent some time with the DFX94 and I really like it- it makes me want to try all those 80s/90s delays that put “sampler” in the name of the delay to make it sound “cool.”

The sampler function is pretty cool though- in the right most mode, it’s almost like Drolo stammen vibes- almost, not quite. The varispeed sounds really good- really wiggly and gross. And there are trim pots inside for repeats and time- you can get self oscillation but it’s so gnarly and kind of messes up the sweep of the repeats knob. What I found more interesting was the time trimpot- by default it’s maxed out for max length, but if you reduce the delay length enough it eventually starts making these crazy feedbacky noises- not really oscillation but something else weird going on with the circuit. It’s really cool and makes me want to wire a knob to the outside of the pedal to control it- but that enclosure is packed so tight already I don’t know where I’d put it.

Anyway, it’s cool. Maybe I’ll explore other “sampler” delays of that time period? Why not

i love 80s/90s rackmount reverb/delay/multi FX units, but have little experience with pedal versions. i’m
a fan of old digital reverb, especially Yamaha and Alesis stuff.

A friend in Switzerland instantly bought a Coron DS1000 Digital Delay/Sampler after I forwarded the ebay link to him. He is absolutely blown away by it! It has lots of digital aliasing that he likes a lot, plus it "listens" to your input sound and starts repeating what you already played a second ago (depending on the mode) when you activate it. And it has awesome looking LED numbers.

Jero has my HAXAN ready to ship. this actually could be the last gain pedal i buy for awhile. i want to see if its bassier mode will fit into one of the boards. more likely on the main board.

Do you think I can find someone who can modify my Arturia Drumbrute Impact to have pitch control over the snares? I am not handy enough to do this myself.

I just got an Impact. Are there documented mods for it? I just looked and only found them for the OG Drumbrute.

Not that I've seen yet, but also I don't really know where to look for such things.

I’d pretty quickly found a standalone website for mods for the OG with a web search, but since that isn’t flying I would suggest putting out a feeler at the Modwiggler forums—some crazy mad scientist mojo there that might have looked at this machine as a golden opportunity between its interface and sequencer and its analog drum sound circuitry. If you ask there, I’ll be following the thread.

(Still good stock, though. Getting used to the sequencer workflow enough that I might now have a better idea of how to use the Pocket Operator Sample that has been languishing under my ignorance, though they really should have done that manual with black lettering, not grayscale.)
