I wanted another volume pedal but didn't want to spend a fortune. In the classifieds I found a Schaller F121 Fußschweller for 15 bucks. Seller said it had a scratchy pot. Easy fix, I thought and bought it. It was in the mail today and turns out, the pot works perfectly fine. Pedal looks awesome, too. :joy:

i have one of those i got from the used unit of Guitar Showcase in San Jose back in the 00s. i’ve used it as a volume pedal, expression pedal, and it’s currently living attached to my Casio keyboard.

Gripe on the otherwise awesome Eventide Rose that came in a couple days ago: the psychotically limited control port is annoying AF. One TRS jack that can do expression or a 3-button foot switch or MIDI. Grrr. Gonna have to see if my Guitar Wing will do the expression control I want sufficiently as a dedicated piece. If I weren’t using anything else MIDI my SA Soleman and expression pedals could do all of this, but that’s silly overkill when with sufficient jacks a cheap expression pedals and an FS3x would have done it.

One of my favourite BOSS pedals. :thumb:

If yours happens to be one from the very first production months, it will come with high-pitched noise. That can be removed with a small modification that is shown in the official service manual. Hit me up if you need help. Also calibrating the octave up and down modes could be necessary after so many years.
i think i should be good according to this serial #:

Sorry, some misinformation from my side as I see now. I just looked it up in the service manual again (https://www.synthxl.com/wp-content/uplo ... Manual.pdf). The trimpots are only for mode 4 where you can adjust the sound to your taste and should be set to achieve 13 semi-tones in each direction. The octave down or up modes are fixed.

jeez, that’s a brutal adapter port addition. i would file the sides so it’s smooth, but that’s just my anal retentive Germanic temperament.

spent some time playing with the Vintage Van OD along with the Normie Board and Blue Sky reverb. i’m definitely going to pull the Guv’nor Plus and move the Höfner Fuzz so the sequence goes Van->HF->3699. the Van has a fuller sound than the Guv’nor Plus, and the HF gets quite unruly in its upper end. the three box’s voices work well together…they almost overlap gain-wise so i should be able to cover a lot of ground. the fact that all three have tone knobs that work well helps a LOT.

i found some decent sounds in the Room and Spring modes of the Blue Sky, but nothing that replaces the other ‘verbs i like better. i don’t think Spring sounds much like spring reverb at all.

Had a fun rando thought today: pondering mild mods to a Tube Screamer to the TS-10 circuit get to see if there’s anything to the Meh-er fad crossed my mind (adding a source follower probably means it’s impractical) I remembered that when these were the $20 bastard children of the TS line that no one wanted the info was out for easily converting them to TS-9 or, better, TS-808 specs. And the thought caught me: how many of the pedals that people are paying hundreds for are modified. Who knows, maybe Meh-ers?

I wonder if I could get a warning or ban at TGP for sharing that thought.

With shipping 200$!
When I saw it, being myself lefthanded I couldn't let it go. Plus it's been a while I was pondering the idea to get a bass.

I have way too many Tubescreamers but I wanted to try it so I pulled the trigger on one... Love the usable tones, hate the ridiculous amount of volume difference between the 3 presets and the behavior of the volume pot.
