It's definitely one of the better ones, I certainly like it. There are a handful of other designs that I would have been happy to have if they had come up instead. In terms of the mini versions, the Loch Ness, pyramids, raindrops, and starry night versions are also quite nice.

The big box versions with the vinyl covering has HEAPS of cool variants. I suppose they were alot more custom and labour intensive (I did some reading on here, checking out the old threads), so that makes sense.

It’s hard to photograph. That pic makes it look darker than it is in real life. The acid dip gives it wood grain vibes.
It’s 9lbs 3ozs but it feels lighter. The weight is distributed nicely rather than having a boat anchor feel. This one is right at a year old and is made from 7075 aluminum.
As much as I've been into aluminum guitars for the last couple of decades, I have not become familiar with the different types of aluminum but I see that is a lighter weight aluminum, from searching around. Does EGC not make all of their guitars from this type? If not, then why I wonder. :idk:

It's a beautiful guitar :thumb:

I have had interest in these guitars for years. I am not the absolute expert but I have done a deep ish dive over the past few weeks.
It seems as if 6061 is the more common alloy. It is heavier and weaker than 7075. The reason why 6061 is more common is the 7075 is harder to mill, it’s tougher on tools and it is more expensive.
I think some EGCs have been 7075 over the past 2 years. 7075 is supposed to hold its shine longer and EGC can “tap tune” the resonance of the guitar.

Thanks, this guitar is great. I just got done with a quick jam on it.

Will relent & finally plunge 4 an Alesis Micron (again) next yeer, since the prixes are going up, and my interests in more complicated little synths is stalling me with excess choixes (nice, really, but if they're all made of plastix, why not go with an OG plastix synth?!?).

Cheep full-size Viruses keep popping up in yaw-worth condition for very few bones, so then there's that?!? Gotta shake my brains and let all the spare change fall out so I'm helen reddy when that happens again (that one that was wrapped in duct foil was something 2 beholdt - sorry Travis Beens!), or else drop everything & MICROKORG myself (OG, obviously), because those are alvvays about $100 & borken in all sorts of vvays.

TOMORROW WE RIDE (at least until holiday spending is finally finished & I am alone with can o' beans & burning marshmallows for ambient sweetnez).

I think I have enough new distortion pedals to cope until next year!!! :animal:
Last to came in the Drunk Beaver Cold Bat, very cool take on the Rat with many cool options (and a lots of mid grind when compare to my more "hifi" BSRI Magawa).
Then the surprise of the lot: the Boss OD3! I got it out of curiosity and it rocks a lot!!!
Then the other I still have to spend a bit more time with to understand them: AC Noises Urla (CSOM fuzz with MS20 filter) and CMC Effects ShinEi/Terminal Fuzz clone.

Bought the Donner Third Man Hardware Pedal: Distortion, Phaser and Delay for 99EUR.
Sounds quite inspirational. I miss a bit headroom, especially in the distortion section. But overall a fun pedal for a decent price.

i've managed to avoid the Strymon/Eventide Axis of Digital Complexity till now, but i may be sunk. i'm really not much on copying stuff from other players any more, but Mark Gardener from Ride has been using a Strymon Big Sky ever since their reunion which he uses to generate these huge clouds where the attack is de-emphasized and the signal blooms into a...well, cloud. a perfect example is the intro to "Peace Sign" from their most recent album/Bob's AOTY, Interplay:

i really don't want to spend $400 on a fucking reverb, though.

 Right!

Comming: Old Blood Noise Endeavors Signal Blender (in olive green), it’s time to upgrade from the boss LS-2, with better jacks.. and better jack orientation.. also a clean blend will be nice… man… I think by board is half utility pedals/boxes at this point….

You get a lot of algorithms on the Strymon and there are a ton of sweet spots on the knobs. I don’t have Strymon or Eventide pedals anymore but I do have some eventide apps that I use.

I ordered a Fishman TriplePlay Express last night. I hope it works well enough for some guitar synthing fun at a pretty cheap price.

Maybe check out the Source Audio Ventris. It's a dual reverb. Seems to have a lot of tweakability.
I don't have one but I did research getting one for a while when I thought I could afford things.

Cons:
To get the utmost from the pedal requires using their app or hooking the pedal up to a computer (fiddly)

Pros:
Versatility
Price

There are YT comparison clips out there for your reverberant perusal.
