In: DOD Grunge bass, got it really cheap. I’ve had one before but at the time I didn’t really get its sound.. it is not a Grunge guitar pedal with a clean blend, if any thing it’s the fuzz side of the DOD Punkifier with a tone and a blend.

Got this little guy today- I wanted a parallel loop blender a month or so ago to add fx and filtering to the output of the EDP, but to keep my live signal separate. I got one of those xotic loop blenders to do the job, but some dickhead broke into the mailroom and stole everyone’s shit, so I never got it. Around the same time, Dreadbox releases this. Always happy to support those guys so I ordered straight from the source.

It does the parallel loop job but it also converts expression to cv- which is unique in a utility pedal as far as I know, outside of Boredbrain maybe. Should be cool to hook up with the Komorebi or kinematic.

That's cool, the Dreadbox pedals seem like they would be a lot of fun with some modules, and made just for that niche of euro/pedal combo setups. I still search for a WMD Protostar occasionally. Been thinking about one of those little powered 4ms pods or similar powered mini case just to make a nice custom control box out of LFO and sequencing modules too. Two dual CV converter/attenuators, a quad LFO, a CV/envelope sequencer and a trigger sequencer would cover all my bases for multiple pedal manipulation right now.

Teaser Stallion arriving today, got a steal of a deal on the ugly purple one. Another oldie that I always wanted to try. I didn't say I don't need any more oscillating distortions...

The Gehirn Buzz King is insane, just a power electronics noisefest. Probably not quite as nuts as the Noise Wasp but right up there with it residing happily in crazy town. It does not get coherent enough to use like a standard Buzz Box at any setting that I've been able to find, though that is just fine because it's jam packed with its own very unique characteristics. I still want a more stable/original type of Buzz Box though, so I have a Mantic Hivemind on the way now too, sexy yellow splatter version.

Much to my delight it looks even better in the "flesh".

It has a series/parallel switch on a push/pull pot but I didn't like it so I've re-wired it to std.

After a bit of thought I really didn't want to use my old Hohner body I've had since 97.. it's cheap and shitty and been modded too many times..
But! I did have a cheap firebird body laying around that I hadn't used so Im making a tele bird.. at first I was going to go natural but after looking at it and modding the shape so I could install a bigsby B7... I took a blowtorch to it.. wish I had shot video but.. it was a spur of the moment thing and fire..
Here is the mockup

I'm going with a Rio Grande Muy Grande bridge pickup and a TV Jones Powertron in the neck [these are the Billy G pickup]

i ordered a Marshall GV-2 Guvnor Plus today...i had two of them in the early 00s but sold them when i was selling everything that wasn't nailed down. it's a great little overdrive and between its gain range and the very useful EQ is quite versatile. note: the earlier ones were made in India, and are better than the later Chinese-made ones which sound a but thinner and less lively. i had both. i used to run the two together with almost identical settings, resulting in an amazing compressed roar that sustained forever. maybe i'll get a second one if i can find another India one. i was on a Reddit thread about the pedals you miss and thought of it.

i was feeling antsy so i ordered a Höfner Fuzz. i really liked them when they appeared, but they disappeared almost immediately. it straddles the OD/fuzz line and would work well as a first OD/fuzz in my Distortion+ spot.

 I came close to getting a blumes.. I used to have a sd-1, really old one, I remembering it not being the loudest pedal and being incredibly vanilla, almost…. Transparent :idk: now… I need something that stacks with a gainy tube pre (Mesa vtwin) but also in front of my parallel loop setup to have something to make everything huger! I tried a hm-2 the other day as a dirty boost and it did almost, but it is too colored… also I really liked the idea of the BP in that it was made to solve the same issue I have which is to make one person cover more sonic space to make up for a lack of personal as I play in a duo.

I grabbed a Blumes. I think it'll do what you want. (Haven't tried it on bass. Don't have one here now.) It's definitely got volume and can be used as a clean boost. Seems more versatile than the Plumes. :poke:
