Sounds fun! I like dirt pedals that a mix of overdrive/distortion/fuzz sort of all at once. Does it have mids or is it kinda scooped?
There’s no mids control but it has some mids baked in- overall it sounds kind of full frequency, not too much of any one thing. If anything it can sound a little dark into some amps, but that’s all I’ve noticed.

The middle one is a Japanese reissue from a few years ago, the one on the right I put together myself - a licenced Allparts body with a Fender MIM neck.

would this work with a 3.5 mm to 1/4" adapter into a regular input? perhaps into a mixer or switching pedal?
The doohickey is designed to be plugged into the headphone jack or line out of a CD player or similar audio device, so it needs that level of signal. Just plugging it into your guitar or the output of a pedal won't give it enough juice.

Little thing: got a Gator integrated pedalboard-gigbag thing. I would hesitate to recommend the thing since it’s pretty flimsy, but it was cheap AF on sale and is big enough to hold some expression pedals and my little Source Audio MIDI controller. Just need to decide whether it’ll have hard wired switches and expression pedals connected to the tack or whether it’ll be all wireless MIDI.

Finally receiving the Mother mk iii has killed any desire for more gear- I just want to play that beast all the time. One thing I’ve noticed, though, is I’ve been playing it straight in so often, I can hear the change in tone whenever I use any pedals. I always thought this was cork sniffing TGP nonsense, but it’s kind of crazy the difference vs. plugging straight in. Even just one true bypass pedal in between the guitar and amp changes it.

So, in extremely uncharacteristic fashion, I am dabbling with a buffer. I have an empress buffer plus on the way that i want to try and make the smallest board I’ve ever used with- just two pedals and the buffer. I kind of can’t believe im even fucking around with this stuff, but hey maybe it will sound great. Anyway. At least I don’t know any Wilco songs.

Amazing, It's crazy when you get a piece of Gear that works so good by itself that you questione your whole setup habits :thumb:

Just got a care package i ordered back in november from our dear Ryan Scientist:

Tonight is Phreak + Bitquest new tremolo chip test time!
And with these, i am settled for a good while - most likely for the whole year, unless somebody wants to get rid of a Cosmichorus V3. uh and yeah maybe the Red Panda Radius...

the Demedash T-120 arrived yesterday, and it's even better than i expected. i started playing through it last night and got lost in it for 45 minutes. i may be spoiled for tape-style delays forever. i put the rest of the FEB together and wired everything up, leaving space and cables for the So High So Low which is preordered. i bridged that gap with the cables set aside for the SHSL and spent a couple of hours playing through it and it's just fucking wonderful. WAY more sounds and options than the old version which was basically context for the Attack Decay. i'm really happy.

apparently the T-120 Deluxe v.1 wasn't made with tap tempo...the second switch is a momentary oscillation switch. good thing i didn't refuse it when Music Go Round told me that "the tap tempo light (wasn't) working." it works exactly like it's supposed to do. interestingly, the oscillation switch works even when the unit is powered off. i haven't had a chance to test that yet because the board has been sitting on my coffee table for the last few days and i only have 2 hands.

the Ampeg bass head arrives today. i ordered speaker cables which also arrived yesterday and will test it out with my 12" Weber D-140 cabinet as soon as it warms up from being in the truck. the Univox bass cab is tipped to arrive on Monday. UPS is really slow compared to USPS.

Can’t wait to hear the music you make with this once your odyssey is finished!

it's getting really close now. the only pedal left to come in is the SHSL, and i knew it wouldn't ship till the middle of next month when i ordered it. after the bass rig is settled i'll get a Rolls Tiny Two Way Crossover that will mount under the looping board so i can biamp using the guitar and bass amps. other than that there's really nothing necessary left to add. i even have spare 6"-12" cables. it's really strange...i've had a Google Doc since last July with information about what's here, what's coming, and what to do with it and now it's almost all speculative things like "what about a grab-and-go mini-board?" and lists of things to do and check for the gear i have that's already installed on the boards or could be associated, e.g. the Black Finger compressor or Stereo Memory Man With could plug into those handy patch points i put between the delay and reverb on the big board. at its peak it was 3 pages of single-spaced type and bulleted lists. i'm both relieved and feeling a little empty now that the building phase is nearly over...it's occupied much of my attention for the last 6 months. it'll be good not to have to think about and analyze stuff so much, but what is my brain going to do with all that space?

Lastest entry in the noise tool arsenal:
- Gen Thalz HNW (got this in a gear exchange with a friend, it's a super cool (harsh)noise/drone mini synth, super simple but very flexible and able to generate loads of cool noises and textures)

- Dwarfcraft Device The great Destroyer (found this one second hand for a ridiculous price... 1/3 of what I saw on reverb.com, so I had to get it. Very cool indeed, plenty of cool noises when tweaking the knobs. It's not as brutal as the MASF Epilepsy, but for situations, where I need a fuzz able to noise but still tamable/controllable it's perfect)

I still have yet to play a great destroyer. I wish Dwarfcraft were still around.
