This is by far my favorite pedal I've played. It's so texturally/harmonically rich. It does it all-sparkle, scream, sludge. I've never felt endless possibilities like this before. The Filter is so incredibly juicy. Sounds I've been chasing for a LONG time are dialing right in. So easy to learn- no feelings of being overwhelmed by control schemes. Just absolute Perfection in the execution.
I just finished playing the album as well- absolutely stunning. The best part of all of this, imo, is that you perfectly realized the aural experience of the album with this pedal. Just WOW!

Bummer I couldn't get in on this. Everything I've seen and heard is really impressive.

Yeah. It's awesome, Brian! I spent a few hours on it, and barely scratched the surface, but at the same time dialed in some amazing sounds [afraid to move off the last one until I documented it]. So dope. Incredible range. Super musical.

Well done, B.
Ultimately my great day for gear acquisition proved a (mostly) lost day for experimentation. Interruptions and whatnot.
I did (briefly) get to spend a half hour with the pedal I've been thinking about for 3 months. Settled in at the end of my signal chain.
Used it with 2 other pedals, so it was RRR > DMM > PY. It's unprecedented how much better both pedals sounded through it.
It is exactly what I was hoping for in that regard. Looking forward to diving in & turning up with it tomorrow

Pedal looks great, dude.
Hope y'all enjoy. I was on the fence about getting one. This thread will make me regret my decision but that's life, eh?

Couldn't have said it better myself. There's so much possible in this box, both musical and noiseical. I've never enjoyed a gainy guitar tone as much as I enjoy these sounds. The filter section really opens up a world of possibilities for totally devastating sounds. Two adjectives that repeatedly came to mind with some more extreme settings were "degrading" and "mangled"

Also it plays *very* well with CV. If y'all have CV sources, it would be irresponsible not to try it out.
If anyone's interested in some clips, I posted a couple CV experiments on my instagram and twitter (both @EvanGordon). There's more to come, but here are the two that I've posted so far:
- Guitar loop into the Pretty Years receiving scrambled CV input from a Dwarfcraft Happiness (all filtering is coming from the Pretty Years, the Happiness is acting solely as a CV source)
https://twitter.com/EvanGordon/status/7 ... 8781642752
- Pretty Years acting as a tone source (pushed into oscillation via resonance) with CV input from an 8-Step Program - totally wicked and tweakable sequencing with no audio input necessary.

Man, I can't wait to get an 8step for my (still incoming) PY.

I was planning to use it for the step function more than anything, but that sequence.

So I turned knobs and flipped switches on it for about an hour last night and there are really a lot of sounds in this thing. For about the first half hour, I had a hard time getting the 60 cycle hum out of it and before I did, I was starting to think it was broken. But then I turned something, I can't remember what, and it was gone. Then the next half hour, I just messed with different things until I got a fuzzy sound that I really liked a lot. It's a unique sound, never quite heard anything like it, I don't think.
Sounded great complimenting a Carcosa on a separate amp and a silicon Kama Suture on a separate amp (got those last two in the pgs sale over the weekend). It filled in the gaps with its unique texture.
Glad I got in on this, will be a pedal to explore for years to come I think.

PY landed and wrecked me, holy shit I can't wait to try this on a real amp.

It sounded amazing through my iPad though. If it wasn't for work I'd still be playing.

i was informed that i stupidly left off the FM knob from the manual - to anyone confused, you need to toggle the FM +/- switch either up or down to engage the knob. the modulation can range from auto-filter/envelope-type effects to super gnarly fizzled out grit. ccw is less modulation, cw is more modulation.
