Snagged one of these:

Also GASsing for Mattoverse Air Trash, OBNE Signal Blender and Korg SQ1 that I MUST acquire before the stroke of midnight on Dec 31st, because I am most definitely not buying any new gear in 2023.
i've looked at one of those hand crank tape things as well.

if you feel like you've acquired too much (!) you can make me acquire your thing and it's like i've acquired some of your acquiring and you've acquired less. :poke:
I made a bunch of purchases at the end of the year and am dedicated to not buying anything else for the rest of the year! If I get tired of using this thing, I’ll post it on here.

Sameee. Bought an Epiphone Les Paul '56 Gold Top for a low-ish price locally, literally the day before new years. It will probably be my last instrument, amp or pedal purchase for a long while.

The guitar plays great, though. Had not planned to get a LP at all, especially this heavy and with P90s, but it sounds really good. Came without a pickguard and that poker chip on the switch, tbh I prefer it without those. Pickups were already replaced with Tonerider 'Hot 90' I think? The nut is a Tusq, tuners are Grover, so no upgrades necessary. Maybe a pickup swap down the line, but yeah from now on i only want to buy recording related gear.

I'm failing utterly with the no gear in 2023 thing.

I'm planning to sell some stuff to pay for it, and put it away until I make some progress on a guitar I've been building for a friend for years, but next week will see the arrival of a japanese blue flower Telecaster.

Along with that a swamp ash Telecaster body which I'm hoping is going to be nice enough to finish with nothing but a few clear coats. Once that's done I'll either swap all the bits over from a Player Telecaster which currently has a sunburst body or source a whole of parts like I did with my pink paisley Tele.

Maybe that's me done (I can only hope).

I failed the " no gear in 2023" thing too

I bought Skully's DOD rubberneck because its so highly regarded here and I was craving something in my chain that can be usable and wacky with out so many presets that I feel its wasted. Excited to check it out.

I also fell down the XBOX rabbit hole and barely played this weekend- hoping this week will be better.

My westone bass is ready for pick up - so I will swing on buy and grab it. I also will be buying another pedal train as current two I have now are not working for me.

Good purchase, the Rubberneck is so awesome!

Paul, in 16 days you already moved more gear than i did in the last 6 months

Yesterday i got the Dr.Scientist SDD i ordered back in december, and after a first spin i can confirm that it sounds gorgeous, especially that sweet spot on the verge of infinite delay.
Will post more about it in the next few days - at this point i gotta wire a full Dr.Sci board BECAUSE I HAVE TO. :excellent:

I don't have plans of buying new gear for the time being and i am trying to stick to that. Last week i got offered a DBA Rooms for trade but I had to throw in some cash too: honestly i was tempted but in the end I decided not to go for it - insert self-pat on the shoulder here.

@Max Rubberneck is a must have and it's quite flexible, you're not gonna be disappointed. Be sure to mess with the two mini-knobs next to the footswitches to find your favorite sweet spot for time-bending and oscillation. :snax:

Found one at a decent price, so I gave it a go. This is from 1991, Made in Taiwan, and it sounds very good, and side by side to my trusty Earthbound Throat Locust, it's a grinding machine!!! :animal:
One like this used to be my main distortion pedal from 1997 onward for a very long time (after a Boss OD2r, which I first thought was the pedal Kurt Cobain used on stage... a picture in the From The Muddy Banks of the Wishkah's booklet put me on the wrong path, ehehe, only few weeks after I got the OD2r found out it was a DS2! Nirvana was my music school), then I sold it in favor or valve preamp pedals, 10 years ago or so.
These old Boss pedals are still rulers! :!!!:

I also fucked up Year Without Gear and bought an acoustic over the weekend. My defense:

1. My main acoustic has become prohibitively fussy and I can't get it repaired until next year.
2. I want to write more songs this year and acoustic guitar has historically been the most successfully tool with which to do so.
3. It was for a very good deal.
4. I will sell some stuff to off-set the expense.
5. I'm a very good boy who deserves special treatment

Its because all of you beautiful SOB's have warped my brain and I don't just sell everything and get a multi-effect and be done with it  ( but I could add a multi effect in my chain )

First partscaster:

Body off reverb, shipped from puerto rico, grungy affinity neck from ebay but it cleaned up okay. Loaded pickguard and body hardware from Amazon. Still needs strap bolts and a back plate cover. I'm very pleased with these pickups, they are hot and full of character and all sound very different from each other, and bring all kinds of growl and clang with the Mammoth Slinky strings.

Red maple with an ebony tint, a good tone wood, somehow a little softer than alder but harder than basswood. Screwed in the bridge, jack socket and pickguard by hand with no guide holes, very satisfying crunch there.
