ratrod wrote:not much to add other than I strongly disliked my buddy’s 65 reissue Twin, but I really liked a master volume silverface Twin I got to play thru, not sure what speakers they have in them.

Also I saw Roomrunner live and one of their guitar players had a Twin with G12-65 Celestions, and that sounded great with lots of distortion
i was about to suggest Celestions. the 70s silverface Twin i used to have had Oxfords, which actually weren't too bad. you're not going to get a lot of mids or clarity there, though.

I must have missed this, but why am I paying tax on Ebay when I make a deal between two individuals? (Am I supposed to pay sales tax on items being purchased at a garage sale?) Are all sales on Ebay subject to sales tax now?

It’s the Wayfair case: https://www.salestaxdatalink.com/blog/h ... fect-ebay/

I, for one, am relieved that I no longer have to compile and remit my own use tax from the purchases I make where no sales tax is charged.

Why are you laughing?

Yeah it's kind of a bummer; sales tax where I live is just shy of 9%. :(

Has anyone used a DBA Reverberation Machine/Caroline Meteore/whatever loFi, dirty verb of your choice with active pickups? Does it fuck with the gainstaging too much? I’m thinking about a Reverberation Machine, but my main guitar has EMG’s and I’m worried I’ll get too much of a blown out thing all the time. It’ll be running into the front of a dirty amp so I’m more looking for a little extra breakup than blown out fuzzverb.

I did very briefly have both active pickups and an RM1N at the same time. I can't remember any problems but equally I have no particular memories of trying them together so don't read into that. I feel like I would have remembered if it was really awful though. :idk:

Sorry for not very helpful post

So there's a Sunn Concert slave for relatively cheap ($300) in my area, this might be a silly question, but I was wondering, could I run a preamp pedal into the slave for baritone/bass and call it a day or do I need an actual amp head?

I’m thinking it really can’t be that bad, I’m just not completely satisfied with my context in my current band and i want something a little gnarlier. If I can get a good enough deal at work i may just buy one just to try.

Might also be worth noting I feed mine all sorts of different synths and it's fine with those too.

not really a fan of relics in general but this looks pretty badass with the railed humbucker

It does look quite cool. Knowing it's a relic makes me think it's less cool but that's probably kind of silly - is the result or the process more important?

I'm sure i saw a thing that can do this but i don't remember where or what it was.
Not sure if I really want it, but I'm curious to know if there's a way to have a simple controller to send the same tap tempo to this devices: Red Panda Particle 2, Red Panda Tensor (MIDI through USB, remote switch through standard jack), DOD Rubberneck ( remote switch through standard jack) and Dr. Scientist The Atmosphere (MIDI through 5pin DIN jack).
Any ideas?

that Tele would be better with a FilterTron in the bridge position.

Haven't noticed any comments here about Danelectro reissuing the Back Talk delay.

They should reissue the Fab Tone too, and put it in a normal enclosure.
