Dark Matter definitely kept my interest throughout a week-long binge, though some of the plot twists seemed a bit contrived. Good to know the Expanse is coming to Amazon Prime. I like to supplement Anime viewing with live action Sci-fi, i.e., the sensory diet of the postmodern geek.

Gone through 3 episodes of The OA so far and I still have absolutely no idea what's going on.
Is it a sci-fi?
Is it a drama?
Is it a thriller?

Also interested in that.
Started watching Black Mirror, finally. 2 episodes in and enjoying it a lot.

We watched Episode 1 of The OA, last night. I liked it a lot, except for a small bit at the very beginning. My wife said she didn't really start to get into it until near the end. I'm super excited to watch the rest of the season. Although, reading things like, "It's trying to be a stranger Stranger Things" has me a tad worried. My wife said she didn't get that impression. But, I did a few times while watching it. It, also, made my think of Life is Strange, so...

Haven't had a chance to start it yet, but keep in mind that production for the show started way before Stranger things was a thing. At most, editing happened after Stranger Things, which is one of the most important stages for setting the tone. But would likely not be making massive core changes to be Stranger Things like.

In my view, not really.
I'm so invested in it now that I can't help but finish it, but it's trying
really hard to be a good Netflix show and it just isn't, as far as I'm concerned.
Granted, I'm not a big fan of doing two stories (present time/past time) at the same time throughout a show. It's really tedious, even though it doesn't need to be. The whole "let me tell you a story over a period of several days/weeks" concept makes it drag on, too. And not in a way that I care for.
I'm sure some people will like it for the exact same reason I don't, though. So.
Also, the comparison to Stranger Things is more apparent later through the show (not to spoil anything, but you see a little bit of it in the previews, anyway).

I watched the first few episodes of Dirk Gently, it's pretty cool so far. I didn't even know the Douglas Adams book...

I'm three episodes in and really liking it. It's the kind of weird and absurd that's right up my alley. I knew of the books but never read them. I used to be obsessed with the Hitchhiker's Guide series so I always wanted to read more of Douglas Adams' work

Been watching that Anthony Bourdain show. It's awesome.
Also finished the first season of American Horror Story. It was pretty good, Asylum is still the best. That maid was hot though. I dont really have any interest in long series anymore...

Yeah I liked asylum more too. Got up to the circus one but only watched the first episode and didn't like it at all. Does it get any better?

Alright, I finished The OA and I have absolutely no idea what it was about.
At all.
The end, especially, made no sense whatsoever.

Depends on better. My memory of it is that it's a little more overtly campy. But I marathoned the first four so it all kind of blurs together.

We just watched the first episode.
I'm not totally bought in but I'm intrigued enough to watch more.

We're halfway through The OA and loving it!
