Like a friend said: the HX Stomp is like an hifi version of the Multistomp. Soundwise it's the very same hi-end quality you'll find in Strymon, Meris, Eventide, etc...
For example the Particle Reverb: the Line6 original sounds brighter and wider than the Zoom, which is a bit dull in comparison. But they do both to very same job!
In some ways you can compare the HX to the MS (presets are a chain of multiple FXs), whereas the HX gives you a lot more possibilities of switching, control, and setup.
For example I've prepared a preset for a gig I'll play this very week: a 45 minutes live soundtrack for silent movies. I created this preset so that the 3 footswitches can turn on/off different blocks of FX (mostly reverbs in this case), which I can also combine together to achive more sounds, plus I'm using the snapshots to access 2 additional presets of reverbs (a synth ambient pad one, based on the particle with 100% wet mix, and a huge super long almost infinite reverb), the FX chain is the very same, only the setting on the FX are different.
This ways I can spare a lot of time, which would lose on the MS70 scrolling thru all the presets.
Also the idea is to use the HX in case I need a very minimal setup (for example: HX, SS20 preamp, Drop, and maybe 2 more small pedals, which can easely fit on a Metro16 frame for example).
But I'm keeping the Multistomps: these are still wonderful/powerful tools, depending on the situation/needs, and to be honest... from an audience point of view (or listening): who'll tell the difference in a live setup/mix?
Thanks for the extensive answer man! I'm gonna stay witn my ms-70cdr for now, but it could be a good option if I need a small setup in the future.

Depends on what version you're referring to, but basically Internal trimpots up front.
top row is Volume & Gain,
middle row is Tone 1&2
bottom row is Impendance and Bias (Octave)
Left foot switch Boost, right foot switch on/off.

Ordered a Leaf Audio Microphonic Soundbox - felt silly to buy one instead of DIY but once I factored in the cost of a decent piezo preamp it worked out where I could use this and still DIY other stuff for about the same money

So my band is writing a new record and I wanna have different sounds so have gone a bit nuts in the last couple months - collating it here so I can keep track of it myself. Got a new job and got paid out from a big tour so I had cash flow and then this happened.
Sterling St Vincent - sold it - I like it a bunch but i cant vibe with the trem and the mini humbuckers aren't super my thing
Rickenbacker 330 - perfect, i love it so much. guitarist of the band we toured with played a 330 and i was so in love with the sound.
pedals:
Boss RV500 - still unsure about it, some good sounds but i still hate menu diving. maybe i'll try and trade for an empress? I don't know what i want at this point. atmosphere would probably be ideal as the RRR is still my favourite ~basic~ reverb i have played. Fucken reverb man.
INFANEM Driving Notion - had one, sold it, wanted it back ever since. Almost exactly as I remember it which is sick and textural and its own weird wonderful thing.
Laowiz Clari-Not Clone - It's so big. It's so cool. Love it after reverb with the delay mixed kind of low but super warped.
EQD Aqueduct - Nearly got a VB2-W mostly due to being a massive Warpaint fangirl for years and years. Decided to go with this, mostly for the random and envelope modes and I'm stoked on my choice.
Red Panda Tensor - Wanted one forever, finally splurged, thought I might be disappointed but I love it so much. Still getting my head around it but it's been really dragging me out of an inspiration rut.
Only thing I am really yearning for is a green ringer. Botched a kit that I got and waiting to jump on a cheap one if it pops up.
Some of this might get sold, some of my old stuff almost definitely will. Sorry for the long post!

I wish I was in a band. God, if only I didn't hate jamming with other people so much. I hate jamming in general though. Sigh. How do you be a musician and not an introvert? How!

I was going to link the same thread. Super cheap!
Kind of want that toxic plant myself just to try and then put away in the collection. No... be... responsible... have to get Boss Sy-1000 for my anime scores.
