i'm dubious about the provenance of that Thornton guitar. it does appear to be genuine though Thornton's web site gallery doesn't show anything nearly this unusual, but Lenny Breau played custom 7-string guitars with a high A string. his younger brother Denny is associated with Thornton and has demoed their instruments.

I saw in passing that some maker was doing a special run of purple fuzz-clad Foxx Tone Machine repros. Can’t recall which.
