I think it's one of the all time greatest shapes. I had one, in that color, back in the first decade of this century.

I really like the logo that was used on this and the Katana.

:)* looks nice; even sounds nice - but...not for me
the reverb caught my attention more (tho still not enough), but i agree this one looks cooler

Oooh, this is the good stuff. Right on the cusp of cornflower blue and French blue. Mmm....

Dubkitty mentioned Fender's sparkle sunbursts in another thread, so I had to see and/or refamiliarize myself with these.

This iced tea burst gives me the feels. (not that I'd drop $7K on a 6-string. maybe a 230-stringer, though, if it sounded like a Brian Eno afterlife)

I guess it's kind of dated, but I like the way the Electric stuff looked. I had the filter for a while and it was great.

I also had one of these, though mine didn't have the colored buttons. The internal amp sounded great through an external cab.

what are those not-knob/bigger than the buttons controllers on the Electrix stuff?

If I remember correctly, they are momentary buttons, either to engage the effect or for tap tempo.

I really like the way the old Squier Bullets look. Its like a little bit of every classic fender thing in one instrument. Its like something that shouldn't exist.

The pickups are kinda meh. Sort of thinking of putting in the red/silver/blue lace set in there and calling it a day. But its survived 40 years stock and I don't wanna tamper with it much. :animal:

i always wanted to get a Tele with a Strat neck and Strat with a Tele neck. i think it would nudge both guitars in interesting directions.

regarding the pickups, i assume you’ve tried cranking them up closer to the strings or alternately backing them off? bland pickups gain a lot personality-wise when the pole for the high E string is 2mm or less from the string; conversely, some less powerful pickups e.g. gold foils benefit from being farther away from the strings.

Its certainly different. The body is really heavy, but is also duo sonic shaped/sized. But it doesn't really sound like a duo sonic, or a mustang, or a strat, or a tele. Just, different. The pickups are just some low output thing. But that EQ in the background acting as a preamp sort of fixes the output problem.

Maybe theres a better set of traditional strat pickups that could do in there. Texas Specials? Mini hum buckers? Open to ideas. :hobbes:

The really funny thing I'm thinking of is reaming out a hold in it and cramming in the lace dually I have in my strat. But again, dunno if I wanna massacre a vintage instrument like that.

i didn’t realize the body was Duo Sonic-sized…that makes it even more interesting to me as a guy who likes Strat pickups, Tele necks, and Duo Sonic bodies. IIRC the Duncan Antiquities in my 22.5” Duo Partsocaster are like 6.7-6.8 kOhms. it got quite a bit louder and snappier when i cranked the pickups up recently and might not need the clean boost now when used in loops with other guitars. why don’t phone keyboards have the omega glyph? writing “kOhms” is super kludgy.
