So no cool ringeresque octave up like the mutron or octron?

imagine finding out your son is your daughter & she's into noise music

A HOG doesn't do it better than that?! I thought that in the year 2020 it should be possible to create good sounding octave up sounds.

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
what do you mean? They did it in the 70's

Also, I think the HOG sounds alot better and it doesnt market itself as an octave up machine. It's just the sinwavey filtered character of it

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
I just listened to the (first version of the) HOG for the first time in my life a moment ago (I have never been interested in modern EHX effects). To me it sounds awful. It's an insult to my ears.
The OC-5 does definitely have much in common with that sound. Terrible!
The Green Ringer is a legend, as well as the Musitronics Octave Divider. I'm so happy that the KORG KOT-401 with its octave up mode is very similar in sound (plus different types of distortion can be added for each mode separately!).
Yes, this one is in my TOP 5 list of the best effects that I own:

Good luck finding one. You need the PME-40X base unit for the modules, but I can assure that this system is worth every cent. This is my collection:

The Octave V, the Dist Wah (pretty much like a Mu-Tron III or an advanced Ibanez AF-9 Auto Filter) and the Wave Shaper are the most expensive units. Those three together can produce awesome synth sounds ... Okay, I will shut up now!

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
I have a few more ...

(Not in the picture: LIM-1 Limiter.)
KORG did excellent stuff in the '70s and '80s. I also have the pro-KORG Keio Traveler Synthesizer, the FK-2 Mr. Multi, SD-200 analog delay and various ToneWorks pedals including the awesome G5 Bass Synthesizer. If I had had more time throughout the last years I had demonstrated all of them at YouTube already.

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
I did some researching about that octave V unit for the korg base unit and while i won't ever try to track one down etc, I am really impressed. Someone should revamp that thing in a stand alone pedal..

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
@pepe - What's a good price for one of those? The whole unit. You got me looking at shit I don't need again. I'm not getting one. I'm just curious.
This seems like it's too much.

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
Some of the modules are really rare, so price tags with steep prices are common if the units show up at all. The following prices are what I consider the standard these days. Sometimes you can make some good deals if you manage to purchase a board with four modules. Or at least it was possible to purchase a full pedal board with a couple of nice modules for 120 EUR a few years ago. Prices have gone up ever since then.$harkToootth wrote:@pepe - What's a good price for one of those? The whole unit. You got me looking at shit I don't need again. I'm not getting one. Korg KAD-301 Analog Delay - $70 (one of the cheapest and best sounding MN3005 analog delays!)
Korg KCH-301 Analog Stereo Chorus - $50
Korg KCO-101 Compressor - $50
Korg KDC-601 Digital Chorus - $75
Korg KDD-501 Digital Delay - $90 (very much like a BOSS DD-2, but with a tone knob!)
Korg KDI-101 Distortion - $50
Korg KDW-301 Dist Wah - $220 (poor man's Mu-Tron III)
Korg KES-101 External Selector - $50
Korg KFL-401 Flanger - $75 (awesome sound plus negative feedback on demand!)
Korg KGE-201 Graphic EQ - $40
Korg KNG-101 Noise Gate - $40
Korg KOD-101 Overdrive - $60 (such a lush, tube-like sound!)
Korg KOT-401 Octave V - $250
Korg KPH-401 Phaser - $75 (the best 4-stage phaser I have, I definitely prefer it over the BOSS PH-1R)
Korg KWS-301 Wave Shaper - $300
Korg PME-40X Pedal Board - $40 - $70
The offer at Guitar Center isn't too bad at all, keeping in mind that it isn't a private sale.
