The MT-2 has exactly ONE setting with slightly increased mids that I really like. Sounds like an instant late '80s Steve Lukather lead sound with the ability to cut through the mix. Apart from that the MT-2 produces a lot of mud and famous bees in a jar with scooped mids.

I've been on a big Placebo kick lately (ducks) and have really been digging the more metallic/clang-y distortion Molko used on the Black Market Music album/tour. Turns out it's the MT-2. I already paid money for a Driving Notion to purposely sound like bees in a jar. Might as well give this a go. Like you, I'm curious to approach it with a different mindset.
