Dat FM and Eventide Space video on YouTube makes my knees weak. But I feel complete on the synth front and wouldn't see the point of an addition at the moment.

Yeah I feel that. I THINK the beats looks like a good addition for me for a quicker access box than the electribe for drums. Part of my plan to build a tabletop setup of small synthy things. Cheap enough I'm happy buying one to try it out.

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
exACTly. that's why i grabbed a Tom Cat.
i love the ES2, but it's different midi channel per pad thing makes it sort of impossible to sequence from anything than itself. and wanted to play with the Beatstep Pro as a controller for different things.
that, and having a simple sketchpad drum machine with quick access to all parameters. totes think it will complement the ES2 welllllll.

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
Exactly! I find myself using the es2 mostly as a drum machine which just isn't the best stuff it can do so with a standalone I can utilize it properly or sell and get a smaller sampler/sequencer

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
lol. f'realz.
i DO like the ES2 a lot, but if it wasn't a gift from The Wife, i would sell it and grab an Akai MPX8SD or MPX16SD.
it is fun having a drum machine that has all the one hits i like from Maschine and Battery loaded up into it, but it's so weird about sampled synth/keys stuff.

If I was buying a drum based on how fun it is to use, I would definitely choose something from the volca line over the ES2. If I didn't need something with its midi sequencing abilities I would still have my volca sample.

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
right? i like the ES2 bunches, it does a LOT for the price, but there's something just..... not as inspiring as some other pieces of cheap kit i have.
like the Pocket Operators? so many ideas every time i touch them.
