Eowave Ribbon 2 synth. Outputs audio or CV/Gate. Old version you had to hook it up to a computer and go through their not so reliable program to make changes for how it operates, waveforms etc. this new one stores presets on the unit :omg:

How do the rings correspond with pitch and stuff?

You can set it up a couple different ways, octaves or continuous and direction etc. The graphics are at best an approximation. The Manual is pretty informative.

Snarky answer: "username checks out" :p

Real answer: ribbon controllers are the beeeeesssst, at least coming from someone like me who can't really play piano/keys.

It was the "The graphics are at best an approximation." that made me come to that conlusion - I assume ugf meant that the rings aren't that accurate, thus making the controller unusable for a guy like me. I need to know what key and shit I'm in.

Yeah they are a lot of fun to play, responds to pressure as well as position so you can get very expressive. Its duophonic too so you can play chords etc. Similar to learning to play any fretless instrument takes a lot of practice if you want dead on accuracy. Besides being cool instrument you can also use them in other ways too as CV/gate controller. The old version had a charming lo-fi quality when used at audio rate, some cool aliasing effects.
