I never know what your stuff does these days, UG, but I'll be damned if I don't like looking at it.
Good stuff!

UG, this is something I'd expect from Vid.

I've been eyeing this particular dirtbox for a while and found one on sale:
I almost opted for a Shoe Robert, but was thinking an uber-tweakable Rat variant would prove more utile.

The 50W Katana arrived yesterday
Some initial thoughts for those considering one:
Pros
- Can get 50W tube loud without the speakers crapping out
- Great low end response
- Quiet
- Powerful EQ section and good response to playing dynamics and volume/tone knobs
- Easily adjustable breakup (gain+volume+EQ+mode all work together to change its characteristics)
- 50+ BOSS effects (of which you can customize and save 3 dirt pedals, 6 mod/other effects, 3 delays and 3 reverbs on the unit) and they sound really good
- Selectable wattage is super smart and useful, especially for someone like me (living in an apartment complex where it's not always popular having to crank the volume to achieve the desired sound)
- Changing the wattage changes the amount of headroom
Cons
- Certain settings on each effect carry over to the other effects (you can't have reverse delay be wet only without the other delays becoming wet only as well. Reverb size carries over as well)
- You should be able to select which FX parameter(s) you control with the knob on the amp itself
- Getting to the point of actually getting to use the software was overly complicated. Several downloads, installations, computer restarts and commands on the amp itself
- The tilt feature is stupid. It doesn't tilt enough.
Overall, super pleased with it! The bang for you buck ratio is off the charts!

Twas waiting for your impressions! ^ Very cool, UC! I want to grab another solid state amp next year. I love my Pathfinder, but something with a bit more headroom would be nice. Grats!

I don't know about a demo (but maybe I'll throw up some clips showing off some of the different effects), but it's the amp you'll be hearing in the upcoming pedal demos.

Sales and flipped gear monies tend to inspire YOLO moments ...
It should complement my ARC Crimson King rather well.

Nice! The clips of these sound awesome. Seems to be capable of some lovely octave effects with the neck pickup too. Tempted to grab one and/or a Frog with these Halloween sales.
