I have a sort-of sad, I finally got an answer from the shop that had the Ordo and apparently someone contacted them before me. They'll tell me in case it's still available but that probably won't happen. I checked online who else had this pedal and they're all at full price, except one website that has all kinds of new pedals for discounted prices, i.e. shady as fuck and I won't put my credit card number in there .

Also, the MengQi DPLPG (the thin blue module above) indeed looks great, like most MengQi things, and is also useful as fuck. And passive. Very recommend.

First off, the D.o.S. Fuzz:
A modified Mix between a black russian and a Civil War, fitted with a baxandall tonestack and special clipping stages. The controls should be pretty obvious, so no explanation needed there I think. I tweaked it to my liking, so I hope you'll enjoy it, too. Is it loud? Yes. Does it djent? Maybe. Is it the best fuzz for doom? I don't know

then I was pretty content with my gift choices, but something bugged me. You got a Muff, it's a special kind of Muff, but still - almost everybody has one. You got a little booster. It's also a pretty special little booster but other people have one too.

So here the third gift idea comes into place: a pedal, designed from the ground up: the Denormalizer. It's a boost/EQ/Dirt pedal, originally designed to boost and clip the hell out of everything after it. I have to be brutally honest with you, it didn't come out as I would like... to make up for that mistake, I build you the Noise Ensemble [editor's note: BUT SERIOUSLY DUDE ] with the Satanic Snowman Graphics.

The Denormalizer: It's an OpAmp based effect with an internal charge pump for +/-9V Operation.
Controls: Gain - you know. Gain
Diods -- Silicon, Germanium, LED, Zener, Schottky, All of them, off
Tone- controls the gain between the active bass + active treble stages (because, duh, it has one of each)
Cancel - with this you can control the level of a shifted phase that is mixed to the output signal. But it is not shifted 180* (inverted) like in most pedals, it is shifted about 30-60 percent depending on your tone knob settings... 'so you're basically mixing two distorted waveforms with a shitton of harmonics together.

hope you're able to still get the deal you were looking for. and yeah, the meng qi visual aesthetic is one of my favorites too. i'm finding the dplpg always useful and the perfect companion to an IFM Fourses. But seems there must be some real variance between different vactrols. of the two dplpg i already have there are some not too subtle sonic differences. In using them a certain way, one gives a real nice long decay..maybe "ringing" is what i'm talking about..and the others are faster with their decay. they all seem pretty identical as far as frequency goes, so I'm guessing its the particular vactrols that are responsible. there are other differences but i'm able to use Maths or DUSG to emulate this quicker type of LPG response of how its a lowpass filter/vca...and really maths or dusg are maybe even better for this cause you can also adjust the frequency too with Fall..but I havn't been able to really dial in that beautiful decay of a LPG....maybe with a vca after maths/dusg? anyways i'm gonna do some research and look into buying some vactrols to experiment with and see if I can find that longer response I like, I believe they are rather inexpensive plus easily accessed on the dplpg to swap.

oh yeah, thanks for the headsup on erica synths. Lots of really interesting modules, I'm focusing in on mixers and their Fusion Mixer v2 looks incredible what I really need are more slew limiters to use specifically with the pressure outs of pressure points, i love the whole multi function patch-programmability of sergey modules but the more I learn how different functions are useful i need to be using these multiple functions at once

Different vactrols have different decay times. It's the same for the Optomix.

If you want simple slew limiters, Ladik has a dual module in 4HP I think.
And also in 4HP, Doepfer has the A-184-1 which is a Ring Modulator / S&H/T&H / Slew Limiter combo...

If you're looking for serious mixers look at the Koma Poltergeist and the WMD Performance Mixers.

That's what I figured, need to look into sourcing some different vactrols. I actually have one of those Ladik dual lag, it works fine but Id rather have control over both rise/fall and that likely means more hp so I might as well go with something I can get more usage out of. Probably a couple more Dusg and/or Maths, or pairs of Swoop..

Thanks for recommendations, I've looked at the Koma and love everything else I own from them. Im still not sure what all my ultimate mixing needs are going be, not that i know what to do with them all but ive got an additional 16 vco with the ciat-lonbarde stuff to use with the euro just getting towards picking up a 4ms VCMatrix...maybe two actually. That along with RxMx should be interesting for audio and cv. But towards "mixer" I like the frap tools CGM, that looks pretty versatile but I haven't spent any time planning things out.

For real, schlatte is (was? ) a brilliant Santa. He made me a great unique oscillating fuzz/wah that I've recently got back into in a big way.

Missing from that was the power supply and the other pedals he built (a noise ensemble and a bass bacon) because Lucas is an incredible guy. I have used an all MOM-D board before and it's fucking delicious.

I PM'd him a little while ago -- he's doing well I think, just not actively posting as much as he used to.

I'm kinda gassing for my reverberation machine back, but I know I'll get pissed off at tge weird clipping and kind of inconsistent volume. Does anyone know of other spacy, slightly-modulated, springy, dirt verbs out there? I want to sound like a fog-covered civil war battlefield in the early morning.

Meteore doesn't modulate, unfortunately.

There's no mod control, but my Meteore had some subtle pitch vibrato going on.

I actually had the meteore and I didn't click with it at all. I thought it sounded super vanilla and I got pretty upset at how limited it was. I thought it sounded like any other belton brick reverb, definitely not worth $200.
