Ok, I sent an email.

Hopefully I can get it, it's in a small shop far away from the center of Tokyo that does not accept modern forms of payment so I'll have to do a bank transfer or something if nobody snatched it before me. I thought I could just pay for it online, no such luck.

Send one of your retainers over to pay them with an appropriate number of kokus of rice. :success:

If I wait until tomorrow it'll probably be too late.

I guess I could always flip it here if I don't like it...
Still, not sure what to do (but I know what you'll all say so I might just be looking for validation here :erm: )
You should get it. I have three of their pedals and they are insane (thoroscillator, and the two fucked up delays) Comparatively speaking they are not "that" expensive. I would call dibs if you chose to flip but I am covered in all the realms that pedal covers. Albeit not with jumpers which should be awesome.

I got one on EBay for $36. That was during my phase of putting stupidly low 'max offers' and winning most of the time. I bought this one boss chorus for like $20 and just gave it to a friend cause it had stereo outs. What a good time...

My Shoe Pedals Pixel and 314 arrived in the mail! The Pixel is badassss. Most authentic chip-tune/old videogame-y synth sounds I've ever heard in a pedal. Also, the 314 is one of the best big muffs I've ever heard. I went on a ridiculous muff binge this year and the 314 is easily one of my favs. Admittedly, I was getting a little tired of the typical muff sound, but the 314 has something to it. Not a lot of gain, but definitely a lot of character. Time to look more into Shoe Pedals. :)*

What flavor of Big Muff is it descended from?

It's a Violet Ram's Head, but it has some off the cuff transistors and some cool voicing options. Here's what V from Shoe Pedals had to say:

"Yes, these purple sparkle ones with the vintage parts are indeed limited. I actually don't know of another source of the diodes used in it other than this box I inherited (they may have actually been a prototype of some kind), and I am also not sure how long the supply of these transistors will remain available.
However, I have been testing out modern production replacements in anticipation of this and I'm quite happy with the substitutes I've come up with. So, once I can no longer use the vintage parts, I will continue making them with the substitute parts.

I actually swore I would never make a Muff type fuzz years ago but came into a bunch of vintage parts (some of which are apparently prototypes) from a customer whose father used to work for an electronics testing company.
So, i decided to make something vintage-inspired with as many of those parts as possible but with my own voicing and control choices. I have to say, I'm glad I decided to do that because it's also a really satisfying pedal to make since I love testing them afterwards."

I grabbed it on a PGS discount and wasn't expecting much, but it's really damn good. To give some context, I have some Skreddys and Stomp Under Foot Classics and this is definitely up there.

Ah, I never knew he was on here. I may check out the Frog next as it could be fun to blend with other fuzzes. Off topic, but I dig your videos. :D Almost grabbed a Phantom Arcade because of you. Would love to put it against the Pixel!

Getting StrangeTales' Echo Degrader with a switchable effects loop in the mail today
This'll be my first IE pedal, and I doubt it'll be my last.

Thanks, man! Definitely check out a Wolf Computer if you get the chance. It's the progenitor of Shoe's Silver Apple, which in turn sort of evolved into the Pixel, if I remember correctly. And yeah, the Phantom Arcade is another great one for those videogamey toanz. And we all know that those toanz are the ones we in truth seek. :zen:

Very cool. My Muff search ended when Schlatte built me a one-off for ILFSS but it's still my all time favorite fuzz variant, I think.
