Can't wait to crank the gain and have a genuine 250 experience.
I like this one a lot. Sometimes when I play by myself I want a bit more ass, but in a band context it's really nice

You were given two sets of fingers. One front, one back. Logical. No point in giving him shit for it.

I was hoping to give my tone more of a warm "shocker" effect, but fuzzy booty bulk is okay, too. :animal:

This will be the fourth pedal in a growing collection of versatile overdrives that also includes a Monoprice Tube Overdrive, Fredric Effects Perky Harlot, and Tomsline Black Teeth.

Best of all, I scored it new and on sale from Music123 through Amazon. :omg:

Interesting choice for starting modules...
I assume you're already familiar with synths ? Because the Shapeshifter is deep as fuck and the Doc Oc is a complex module in a way (filter, oscillator or LFO depending on your needs and with a bunch of specific tricks).

Well, not familiar with modular outside of using soft synth modulars, Reaktor or Zebra, and in those cases if i can find a preset that works for what i need I will go that route first, but I *can* blunder my way through it from init to a patch that does what I want eventually. I'm not great with patching synths but I've spent the past year fucking with synths every week and learning. My set up is currently a Gotharman's Fuzion (which is actually pretty deep and I use it on almost everything i do), Nord Drum 2 and a laptop. Also have a Gotharman's Anamono X (internally modular) on preorder, should be here soon in fact.

Also I got both used at prices low enough to probably make a few bucks if they don't work out for me. I already agree with you on the filter, it does things i am not interested in, but the filters I was actively seeking I couldn't find used. The money from selling my pedals was piling up too high, had to start somewhere, and I like to buy used if i can = doc oc.

Let the record show that I'm unsure about this statement.

With that background you should be ok :)
Some people do not know the difference between an oscillator and a VCA and buy thousands of dollars of modules just to be disappointed quickly or to end up using them as a 303 emulator these days ;).

Now I'm supposed to come after that and announce I have a boring old RV-3 incoming?
Hey man, the RV-3 is one of my favorite pedals ever, so no shame in getting one. :thumb:
Yeah it's actually got a pretty impressive price:awesomeness ratio. Stupidly sold mine a couple years ago because I thought there was a bypass bleed sort of issue with it

Turned out it was actually the pedal that came right after it, a ehx freeze

Thats another thing I love about Boss pedals: They're indestructable, and even the great ones that went out of production ages ago...Can be bought for the price of a sixpack any day of the week, anywhere in the world :)
