Not trying a book because it's too long is like not trying a pedal because it has more than one knob.

I didn't really enjoy reading Moby Dick until I re-read it a few years ago.

Totally, same for me an Great Expectations, but saying you'll never try a pedal because it has more than one knob seems a little silly. :p
