I sometimes think about a Meatbox RI on drum machines, just so i can have a one-switch stop for all my "you're suddenly being devastated by drums" needs. Like, in the wacky world of "more than passingly dance-oriented noisy music" i make, sometimes it just feels necessary for all your drums to get soul-crushingly heavy, just in case people are having too much fun. Alternatively, when i was running sound this earlier summer, a friend overheard someone say "Dykes love bass." I just feel like it is a pedal i could accomplish a lot of fun things with.
Please report back your findings, UC.

I'm envious. OP-1 turned out making more sense, for me. But, my heart still flutters for the Octatrack.
I'm packing up to move to an interim house before my big move, so i've gotten literally 0 time with it yet, but color me "Fucking Thrilled" about the knowledge that it's sitting in my future bedroom waiting for me.

Unless you had massive woofers as part of a surround sound system or something, you really wouldn't "get" what the meatbox does through a video since it's basically just a "holy shit, I feel the bass" pedal more than anything.
At least, that's how I always thought it was best utilized.
This is true and this is what I want.
You do get some sense of what's happening if you listen through good headphones though, even if you don't get the full body experience. My eyes got watery earlier when listening to it at high volumes on youtube, even with their shit compression.
PsychVamp: Will do! I don't recall where I read/heard it, but apparently it's a pretty popular unit within dance music (for the few people who still use actual pedals/gear instead of doing everything on a computer), especially on drums and synths. Fattens up aaaaaall the things!

Yeah. Hardware dance music has kind of gone the way of the dodo in large sections of the world, which makes sense, because the majority of dance music is very Commercial, and from a strictly business point of view, hardware is a waste of profit margins. But i'm still in full on gear purge, and maybe a Nord Drum 1 + Meatbox could be fun. Or Bass Station 2 + Meatbox. Or entire fucking mix + Meatbox.

The Meatbox rules!
I mostly use it on bass, with the octave dialed back, just boosting those lows/subs, sending the wet sigal to a dedicated rig (with an Acoustic 301) while running the dry through other pedals (and 2 amps).
That way, I get the subharmonic massage while fuzzing out.
But sometimes I run my tabletop setup through my bass boards (and the 3 amps) .... BOOM, someting like a Weird Sound Generator (or anything else) pumped by the Meatbox is

It's ugly allright.
It's a Dave Hall VT1-EQ-Di-Bass MK2.

Well actually it's MK1, upgraded with the MK2 headphone thing by the man himself.

Out: RV-3, again...
In: food money and Pink by Boris when I see them live.
I wasn't going to flip it, but it's one of the only pedals I have that I can get back relatively easily.

IN: Korg MS 20 MINI and a whole bunch of other pedals that I will post pics of later.
The Korg MS 20 MINI is a special synth to me as I made it a point to get one only if I could get it for $350, which I did. This was all executed today as the price on Craigslist was $400. I E-mailed saying if he would take $350 I would get it today. Everyone was happy. This is a special synth to me 1. Because I like it 2. I promised it would be my last synth with keys. I don't plan on going Euro but if I ever feel the need for more synths that is the format I am going with. No more keys. The Piston Honda MK II is really tempting.

So this is like an amp in box? I'm looking at his other stuff and I feel like I could use something like this. Like an amp without a speaker that I can put my headphones in to not piss off the neighbors, without using a DI? But you can also plug it in a speaker?
