I ain't got no issues with how you run your things.
You do what you want with your bleep bloops.
I just didn't know if you were "particular" about these things.

21,000 posts and counting and Jwar still thinks I'm old and Pope thinks I'm particular. What am I doing with my life

Honestly, as I'm mostly ignorant to synthing in general, I don't think we've ever had a discussion about your setup and you don't actually post a lot about your gear so I wasn't sure how OCD you were with your tendencies.

Come to think of it I'm long overdue for a post of my own board in the pertinent thread. Might try and rectify that tomorrow if I don't get performance anxiety when I realise I'm down to five pedals and my monochrome scheme has now been busted up.

See? Some of us are particular....
So it's totally ok.

Dude I'm not even 30 gtfo with your ageism. :p

Pope: I actually just got a phone that can take pictures/upload them so I can start posting about setups, but for example at ILFEU I had the SP303 running some pitchshifted quotes, field recordings of bat noises, and some of my as-of-yet unreleased tunes (including Greensleeves!) and it's white noise generator into one rig while the other had the Shruthi doing formant vocal chants and general drones into the SOMMS doing "doom oscillations" and a 'kick drum' oscillator into the other. That's the sort of shit that I roll with.

This kills me to hear. I was told that Modular Addict was going to be getting some more shruthi filter boards soon, including the Polivoks and the digital fx. I don't think Tube Ohm does those two that i'm interested in. I guess maybe i'm building an Ambika with SVF filter boards for all my digital Oberheim needs.

If you're looking for versatility and a straight forward, great sounding, Boost/OD/Distortion/FUZZ pedal I'd suggest the Mini. In my opinion the mini has more gain, bottom end and eq control (obviously) than the Fuck.
The Mini was my first ss/bs pedal. I now have a mini, fuck, buzzz and TAFM and I totally see myself buying a 2nd mini in the near future. The crackle function on the Fuck is rad and the Fuck is an awesome sounding pedal. But if you're looking for weirdness over versatility (I think the mini has more gain than the fuck) then the Fuck is the winner.

Yea, he just posted something this morning saying his last shipment to MA just went out so I guess the Shruthi ICs will be back in stock soon. If they last long enough, I'll probably buy 2 more SMR cards to round out the Ambika and try and build a Shruthi XT as well.

I know that technically all the filter boards are open source, so anyone can make them, but i kinda really had my sights set on the poli or digifx. Damn. Maybe i'll get a ladder filter from tubeohm to make up for having to sell my moog. The Ambika had kind of always been my "one day, in the future" polysynth. Maybe i could do Ambika before Blofeld, or just get the boards for the Ambika and hold off on building it until later.

I did a lot of reading before hand on voicecards and the common opinion seems to be for monosynths the SVF is king but for the Ambika the SMR and 4PM boards are king.

That actually completely shocks me. I would think the SMR and 4PM filters, by nature of only having low pass and no band or high pass would be not as great for the applications you'd be using a polysynth for. At least, in my experience, a tasteful 12db/oct bandpass with key tracking turned on can absolutely rule for pads. And High Pass Filters are practically a necessity if you're tryna get Enya with your string/choir patches. But i guess the SMR is supposed to sound like the Juno, so that makes sense? I wish the Ambika 4PM had all the filter options of the Shruthi 4PM, because then that would clearly be the polysynth to end all polysynths.
