My GK 400B went to shit while in storage, so I just made the leap into talkbass land. Thinking I might be able to store this in the case I already use for my pedals, cut a compartment in the foam that's already there. Now I just need a collapsible hand truck and I'll have a mini rig to cart around.

I was going to say, i think the only thing an economist might be able to predict with any semblance of accuracy is when an individual consumer might flip a pedal, because there's probably a direct correlation/causation going on with the individual's economic situation and purchasing habits.
Depends on the circuit I suppose. The probability of a big muff getting flipped for a different big muff is quite high, I would believe
I'm an economist. You could model it like unemployment. Its accuracy would depend largely on how well you could quantify the different features of a pedal. So, you could make a model, estimate the parameters of the model using jwar's previous purchase history, and then use that model to predict when he would sell a given pedal. But I doubt you could really quantify the parameters of the pedal in a meaningful way...

Yeah, but that's the problem with the original model too kind of. I basically learned all my economics by thinking of it relating to the pedals and amps market. Like a big muff clone was the only perfect substitute for a big muff that I could think of, different models for savings in two periods could be related to amp purchases etc. so I suppose there would be instances where pedal economics is a relevant field of study. Tbh I'd rather study that than economics relating to the real world or whatever they/we deal with

I flip out of want to try other things and to pay off previous purchases..etc.
So, if I understand you, dibs.

Are you guys really debating if an economist can predict jwar flips? Ain't nobody can predict that shit. This's jwar we're talkin' about. :whoa:

This was exactly my point.
Anyone else, yeah no problem.
Jwar? Fuck no.

I mean the question was never if he'll flip, but when.

When the boner twitches gear must flip.

But yo, I have a gas question: my main board is perfect for what I've been doing but my new baritone guitar demands a new board. So far I've got some fuzz and verb and the eldritch horror of the generation loss, but I need a dirty drive pedal. I know the answer is always fuck overdrive but have you guys used it for low tunings? I'm in dropped a. Thnx.

I would read the shit out of that study.

Also, I am 100% emasculated by how many gear boners Jwar has. Eclipses my actual boner number, to be sure. I think he gets a new pedal more often than I get laid...which I guess isn't surprising considering that my children are conspiring to guarantee that there are no future children.

SS/BS mini. I have both and usually have at least one guitar tuned to C standard or drop C. I know it's not baritone low but they both sound amazing.

Would you recommend the mini over the fuck? I thought they were the same and really want some of dat crackle. For this board my goal is to have as many momentary weirdness switches as possible.

They stand apart enough. The Mini's pre-distortion eq and constant bias control give a lot more tones than the Fuck, but the Fuck has that crackle that gives it a sounds that's all of its own.

Yeah they're just different. If you don't want the crackly stuff go mini for versatility with the basic tone. Both sound excellent on bass/low tuned guitar.

Imagine a Fuck/Mini with the Mini's pre-distortion and the fuck's crackle switch.
Plus an expression control like the one that was posted in the BST section a few weeks ago...
