After uptrading through the whole Gotharman's line up and settling on the Fuzion, I'm going back to square one to have one for my board, FX deFormer incoming

Direct from Denmark so it's gonna be a little wait :/

It's been awhile since I've done a demo! Maybe I'll do that!

I listened to part of that demo, and also the other demo he linked in his add from the builder. when its electric guitar or bass that weird clicking is in both demos, must be part of the design? it didn't make that noise at all when I was playing youtube clips through it yesterday, regardless of settings.
today i played an acoustic guitar through it and depending on the post gain and detect settings was able to get somewhat similar clicking...sorta. i imagine that would probably be amplified through an amp too. still havn't been able to hook it up to an amp yet so can't say for sure. but, i was able to dial that clicking noise out using the gain/blend/detect knobs...at least with an acoustic guitar as source.
I recorded a clyp with acoustic guitar that lets you hear the clicking noise that i couldn't dial out, this clicking is apart of the divisions/repeats to the sound when its happening and is more present when the sample length is real short and the samples are playing real fast like a dimed tremolo, unlike the clicking in those other demos that was just THERE or something...and kinda
https://clyp.it/ighlxduenow that i think about it, i seem to remember reading a post the builder made about the v1 on his website, and he mentioned a clicking noise that he was able to minimize but it was still present and he seemed like it was "good enough"...believe he shows a before/after waveform which shows the "clicking" i think but that's over my pay grade.

Couldn't you just feed it a lower signal and boost it after?

Man. Since it's broken, I'll give you half what you paid to ease the burden.

Its pretty neat, there is a 100% wet/dry blend and also volume controls for the wet and dry signal...i think, they are labeled post and pre anyways...that will let you boost the signal into some really nice lofi coloration if you want...you can hear it in that first clyp i posted on Bowie's voice at points and with the guitar/bass tracks at others. there is also a detect knob that you set to trigger the pedal. i noticed that if the detect is set real high you get a different response from the pedal vs. a low threshold. there is a lot of neat responses you can find with all that before you even get to the fun settings, so yeah the blend and gain/threshold settings all have an effect on how the actual glitching responds/sounds and I do believe you can dial out that clicking noise if you don't want it or dial it in if you do....at least with the source's I've used so far, i havn't been able to get that particular detached clicking sound yet.
so....you need to get the threshold to trigger one way or another...a hot signal or not. and then you can do what ever you want with the wet gain, and then with the blend you can soften the lines even further. or like you suggest with a boost afterwards. i'll know more once i get it amped up with a guitar. all i know for sure is that everything about this pedal is pretty incredible.

edit: actually i don't think it goes 100% dry. pretty sure it goes 100% wet though. maybe it just depends on the settings, need to spend more time with it

I think it's like this. Clicking happens with a lot of granular effects that either;
A) don't use zero point detection for making the chops
B) don't apply an envelope, cross fade, or ducking to the grain
It's a distortion artifact caused by starting a waveform somewhere other than the zero point.

nice! yeah i believe that's what is shown on the sonic crayon website with the waveforms. the microgranny has a nice click to it, and the deFormer can too. i like it.
