Am I the only one that has to fight off the urge to strangle small animals every time someone comes into the effects section of TB and mentions how they don't use effects?

I especially love the ones that have been doing that, then they finally decide the wanna get into effects and want us to tell them what kind of OD, fuzz, chorus etc. they should get!

I think the other forums get that as well there, but yes, it bothers me to a level I really shouldn't admit to when someone does that "fx are fer fags!" bit. Yes, you think that somehow one can have a PURE tone coming from magnetic signals, and therefore completely misunderstand the entire technology behind an ELECTRIC bass guitar. But:

Jaco only needed 4 strings
big cabs are for the '70s
flatwounds are for old people
etc.

In short, people are morons.

Yes. But what has ALWAYS pissed me off about that that shit in FX is that the FX modz don't take the hard line on that shit, it's "oh well, boys 'll be boys" crap. Go read JT's "rule"/"threat" on mocking 7+ stringers... But they'll sure give you shit if you wander off topic I say perma-bam to any anti FX users in any FX forum, if you don't like FX you should not be there.

No it was TB. Awhile back though before things got OVERY silly. The reaction of everyone was more then worth it, I can't remember who posted it though..
