How are you not overwhelmed by the amount of gear you have?

Gear is just tools i can use to express myself. Never really thought about it, but I also have a tool bench full of tools and I only pull out what I need when i need for the situation...don't always use every tool but they are there when I need it and that is a good thing. Ya know? I wouldn't look at a painter with hundreds of different colors of paint for example and think that must be overwhelming? I'd think that must be great being able to maybe better get the picture out of your head onto the canvas, or something haha?

I totally understand that, and I'm not knocking it. Who wouldn't want an endless supply of gear?
but I mean...where the hell do you keep it all? The square ft of our living spaces must be vastly different

My question is do you insure your stuff? You probably have more gear than anyone I know. So I would hope there's a way to insure it incase of a fire or something like that.
Plus I'm uber jelly.

You can usually insure it with your homeowners or renter's insurance. If you tour with it, there is insurance for that too. I would be too scared to leave home without it if I had all the gear you do.

This.

Euh!! Personally, I don't feel good with too much things around. I'm a minimalist.

I'm still not sure if most people (here or in other places) who buy tons of expensive gear all the time are collectors or are actually making music/in the music business. Not that being a collector is necessarily bad, it does help small businesses staying in business at the very least... There are worse ways to spend your money I guess.
